Should I Keep GTR2?

It's a strange question, I realize that you think that but here's the situation. I got GTR2 for christmas (excellent present!!) and it was cheap too, plus it's a great game. Here's the catch and the reason why I don't want it. I'm now getting into pc simulations and online racing, and finishing up with GT4, and the vaccuum cleaners with turbos. I might get a G25 setup soon (very nice right?) but I planned on racing in 2 series only, Formula 1 (rFactor) and NASCAR (maybe NR2003) so If I'm playing these two already is there a reason to get into another series?

There's only 2 ways I'll change my mind, If I got obssessed with Fia GT or If this game is better then rFactor (and all of its mods) and NR2003 (and all of its mods)

What do you think?
 
You haven't played the game yet and you are wanting to know whether you should keep it?
 
Keep it!!! It's a Christmas present!!!! And it's a great game, you said so yourself.
 
I think rFactor has the ups in realism, but other than that, it's your call. rFactor doesn't exactly have a set theme unlike GTR which is the FIA GT.

But both have terrific mods out for them, and many more coming. I haven't really played on rFactor's circuits so I don't know how they are to GTR2's.

But again, they both share a lot of equal tracks. rFactor to me, just reminds me of a much, much, much...much, better Racer.
 
Well you can download the entire GTR game as a mod for RFactor so there you go. There's actually two GTR2 conversions, there's RFX V 0.7 now, which has added the Aston Martins, and theres the FIA GT championship mod, which is pretty similar to RFX 0.7 but I didn't notice any Astons, but I never came across any bugs in the FIA mod. RFactor is tonnes better than GTR2.
 
I know, rFactor's mods and the program itself looks amazing. I downloaded the demo and the Bmw Sauber is so real. I'm definitely getting Formula 1 2005, unless there's a 2006 version.

GTR2 has a driving school program, is it really useful?

If you've never played before, yeah. It really helps a lot on just how long you have before you have to break, and how fast you can push a car through the corners.

I got it myself today and wow, I fell in love with this game:)

GT Legends is good to. I got the bundle with GTR2 and GTlegends :sly:
 
Keep it. I cant think of a reason to sell it mate, you crazy for asking the question. The more you have at your disposal the better.

I have GT4, rFactor, NKar 1 & 2, GT Legends, Grand Prix Legends, GTR 1 & 2. They all have their pluses and minuses but they are all brilliant and would never consider getting rid of them.

So keep it, play it, fall in love with it, get bored with it, fall in love with it again. Its an awesome simulation 👍
 
Okay I'm keeping it, just one problem, it won't install. "GTR2 GTR2 Install Final EXE" disc not found. I looked this problem up on Google and all I found were international websites, so I translated them, but all I could get out of the typos was it has something to do with detecting a non original version???
 
try cleaning the disc and trying again...

That happened to me the first time with GT Legends but it was because i had put the wrong cd in...

Ok. So are you saying it won't install because it can't find the disc? Or that it is installed, but won't play?
 
maybe a faulty cd?

where can I get the no cd crack? that would be useful...

Maybe it's the disc.

But look, if the game installed properly, and it won't recognize the disc to actually play, get a crack. The crack will load the game without any problems.
 
It was the CDs, they had a glaze on them that wasn't completely round which means it copied the data wrong. I just exchanged them at bestbuy and got new ones but I see a totally different pattern on disc 2 but disc 1 and 3 are fine, I have a feeling, if this copy doesn't work that all the gtr2s at my best buy are a faulty batch, but I'm installing right now.
 
Ok, answer these because I'm getting confused.

Is the game fully installed?
If so, when you click play, do you get a, "Can not find GTR.exe" of whatever?
 
Yes and Yes, I can't believe it, my sister fixed my problem. I forgot because I've been playing PS2 fo so long but my sister plays the sims and other PC games. You have to input disc 1 to play the game! I didn't remember.
