Should i report behaviour like this.

Was running a 2 player online race with a friend tonight and there was a knock at my door. It was neighbour to say there was water leaking in our stair well and sure enough it was like Niagra falls out there......panic mode was duly initiated. After alot of running around we got a plumber who managed to find the stop valve for the main supply and then began the clean up.

When i got back to my ps3 (about 60 mins later)some guy had sent me a message calling me a "wan*er".

I sent a message (do i know you?) to him as i had no idea why i should recieve such a message out of the blue.

He replied:

"No, but you left your gt5 race running like a daft c**t so people kept joining hoping to race. If your not racing dont *****g host you t**t, now **** off."

Is it worth reporting this kind of behaviour? Ok, I may have been in the wrong but surely this is against terms and conditions of the PSN network.

I sent him an explanation, but no repy as yet.

The funny thing is i was still on lap 5 of the 4 lap race with my freind, who by this time had left the room obviously.

I don't take too kindly to joining a race and waiting and waiting myself but I wouldn't have responded like he did as I think that they are too many "kids" online. What I try to do is wait a few if no response then find another race. I haven't even been online in GT5 races yet. It also seems to me like we might have to keep a pen and paper close by so we can add to our friend list NOT-Friends list. If I was you I'd let it ride for now but if you have his PS ID I'd write it down as to remember it in the future (Hint: his grammar might give you an ideal what his driving might be like Bad)

No one deserves to be talked to like that. If that happened here, they'd be gone.

Click this and scroll down to item #7b. Item #8 has a phone number to report it.

That said, we have been handing out infractions for attempting to bypass the swear filter by using asterisk. I know that's not your intention here so I'm going to let it slide. Just a heads up for all who read this.

I don't think it's worth reporting. I don't think people are really breaking any rules by cursing online anyway, so if you do report it, it may not cause anything.

Don't bother reporting it, just remember the name.
Also while were on about swearing online, type connection into a PSN chat room. It can make interesting conversation.

Glad I got an official warning for that...just great. I argued about it so much and nothing got done about people not realizing it isn't accepted...myself included.

On topic: As for the subject at hand, well, I understand his point of view but he was still a little out of line. I would just let it slide as you see alot of it on PSN anyway...

Personally, I think there is no excuse for this kind of language. If you really think about it, PS3's are in people's living rooms by the millions. People often times have children that may be in the room when a PS3 is turned on or a message such as this comes up. Sometimes a youngster will have access to a PS3 for playing his games but still may see a message intended for his parents. Some people are sincerely offended by language such as this. There is a time and a place for this kind of behavior and the open environment of the PS sytem is definitely NOT the place. The rule prohibiting this kind of crude behavior exists for a reason and I'd report it in a heartbeat. The only problem is that there isn't anything in place to keep an individual from just changing his ID and continuing to be sub-human 👎

I find it interesting that a random message from a total stranger on the internet upset you this much.

PSN is not policed from what I can tell

This is true.

The most entertaining way to play cod is to message people and constantly abuse them. Then when you kill them a few times they turn their mics on and start yelling at you. So you kill them some more and they eventually rage quit.

tl;dr It's the internet.

don't report send him a message saying your sorry and add him as friend then invite him to a race and ram the s#%t out of him:tup:

I signed off some user acceptance for online racing on my PSN today.

Sony does not tolerate this and it might be good to warn them and let them take the needed actions.

Just ignore it. Obviously some child not mature enough to just exit the race & try somewhere else, as evident by the cursing & last insult.

Good god people are becoming wussbags! First kids can't defend themselves against a bully without being punished, and now men are crying about some loser cussing on the internet.

Grow a pair, call him something nasty, and forget about it. Don't "tattle" on the big kid being a jerk. Defend yourself and leave.

You may get banned for 2 days from bops and GT5 but you won't get banned from PSN. I've sent thousands of abusive messages over the years for teh lulz and I've never had a problem.

Also, I agree with VooDoo-Reverend hardstyles
