So should PD hire more staff because from what KY said he wanted to add to the game It might take another 6 years to add all this stuff. Which the game will basically turn into GT5.5. But by hiring more staff we can receive weekly updates of standards to premium, bugs fix, tracks added, and more race events. I think this should have been PDs first step to advancement. They need at least 500 people cause he has like less than 200 now? (correct me if im wrong). Let me know hat you guys think

It's not about churning something out as quick as possible and doing all you can to satisfy the community. They're a company and they're there to make money. Balancing the books, costs vs profits, will be a huge focus. They won't hire 250% more staff unless there's a forecastable equal or greater increase to their profits.

Outsource some of the car modelling.

I realise making tracks is expensive and all that, but seeing as most tracks have been scanned by multiple companies already, would it not be possible to buy a scan from someone else and if necessary just send a small team to take pictures and video for referencing?

Well said.

Well maybe 500 was too big of a number but i still think they are understaffed

Probably, they have 140 in house and lets not forget the hundreds more that are working from different places far removed from PD internal. I think that Sony needs to let Kaz in on the next round table discussion for the next Sony gaming system, that man will surely toss in some specs that would make the members shudder.

Understaffed I doubt they are, too many hands means more mistakes. I think they may need more quality testers and beta testers to put everything they do through it's paces on a circulating basis, so they are constantly running new code with updated fixes.

For GT4, they had 30-40 full time people working on the core gaming... then another 100 or so that were dispatched to take photos of locations, cars, landscapes, etc. (these were likely short-term contract workers).

Considering what they added in, I'm not shocked at how long this game was in development. They more or less added in dynamic weather and time of day, in one release. Past GT games did have night and rain, but that is a far cry from a transition from dry to wet, day to night. That alone is a lot of work. Not to mention adding in P2P rally stages (Though, I spose GT2 did have Pikes Peak) with a Co Driver. Oh, and a course editor.

The tracks look splendifferous. The cars look amazing except some of the standards. Remember GT3 had more or less the same number of cars as the number of Premiums in GT5. Those cars are fresh, brand new - inside and out.

Yea, a lot of tweaks left to be made, but cmon, what they added in one release is absurd. If they spent 5 years taking GT4 and making every car a premium, we would have had the game 3 years ago.

Understaffed? Not really, they just spent too much time working on features that aren't as "sexy" as 1000 Premium cars.

My 2 cents.

Fixed. They spent a lot of time modeling premiums and courses, which is why I seriously hope they are bringing more of the old courses back, where the hell is Motegi, El Capitan, Seattle? Kaz just needs to leave premiums as they are and just focus on having an all premium roster(to shut the pundits up) for GT6, weather and day night progression for all courses and more streamlined processing for water spray and smoke effects. More courses from old GT games should be added, new one can be added as DLC, as turn around time modeling a brand new course will take more time than upgrading an old one. Add a deeper tuning section, I hate not being able to detune a car, where are the air restrictors? Why can't I change my ECU mappings to suit the course I'm running as well as gearing, well that's a bit much but you get where I'm going. Kaz just need to focus, since there is no need for a handheld GT game, we won't have anymore problems. I want my missing cars back Kaz, where are the Vectors, Venturi's and such famous autos from the old games?
