I only ask this as I was spraying a couple cars when I ran out of a couple of paint chips. At that point I wondered why can't we buy non chrome paint chips,as it would save the hassle of duping the chips. The chip wouldn't need to be expensive as they should cost between 250 - 500 credits which would allow you to stock up on your most used chips

Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes. You should be able to buy paint chips. Even the "special" ones. You just need to raise the price for them.

Buying paint chips is one solution. In my opinion though a better solution is to just make the paint chips permanent.
If the paint chips truly represent an ability to duplicate a given paint formula why would the paint shop only be able to duplicate that paint once? The collectors could still try and get all the various paint types there are, and the rest of us could paint our cars with a lot less hassle. If I want to paint all my favorite cars a certain color I shouldn't have to buy multiple cars with that color or go to the hassle of trading or during the chips.

I never really thought about this. But, GTAuto does charge us to paint the car and we have to supply the paint. Something is wrong with that picture.

So, I guess I agree with the OP that since we're paying to paint a car, we should be able to select the color without having to bring our own paint.
