The rotary powertrain is known to pack a lot of firepower relative to it's size. This drift car, designed to burn up the track, contains a 4-rotor unit with a turbocharger producing an insane 989 HP from 2.6 litres of displacement. With those sort of credentials, it's no wonder why it was chosen to represent that little purple firecracker. Like the rotary powerplant, Spyro packs a huge punch relative to his size. He has laid waste to enemies many times his size, yet still keeps coming back for more. This spirit is burned into every scale, just like how Mazda's driving spirit is burned into every machine that rolls out of the factory. Nothing embodies the Mazda spirit quite like the FD RX-7 and although Spyro is not an Eastern dragon, the Japanese can still appreciate the spirit of the dragon contained within the chamber.
