So my weirdo girlfriend picked up a copy of the remake of Pirates. What I don't get is, it's the exact same game as it was like 184 years ago, but with better graphics, and she thinks it's amazing.

No, really, they've added like one thing to the game. But the visuals now require a 64mb video card and a 1ghz processor. The original game ran on an Apple IIe which had like a 2mhz processor and 128kb of video memory.

I got news for you, this game remake isn't 500x better than the original, as the requirements would lead you to believe.

But get this, her computer has a 16mb video card in it so she has to play it at my house. I'm giving up quality StarCraft time so she can "dance with the Governor's daughter". LAME!

Though the ship battles are really neat looking, they're rather stupid in reality.

Anyone else play the original or this one?

ive just got this one, because i dont mind all the messing around you have to do, cause i like pirate stuff and i liked the original so the chance to play this game appealed to me.

just got wait to get on my own pc before i play it as im going home on monday.

anyone els play it or have a view??
