Age of Pirates is worth getting now that it has a nice patch and mod community support .

I will be back with a review as soon as I put a few more hours into it ...:)

Its that good so far .

Sids RR..IMO is a half hearted effort and lacks content but its pretty.
Its sure as all hell is NO RR Tycoon...its more of a cartoon compared to that game.

To be fair I did,nt play it long ...but that alone says something because I like TRAINS dammit !@!:)

Again be back with a better review as soon as I put some effort into it.
 
I feel obliged to mention if anyone likes sailing ships and Pirates and trading and an rpg like game all in one

GO GET THIS GAME !

Before you must bid for it on E-Bay !

Its one of the best of its type despite the bugs..they are patching it and the Mod community is supporting it with a great effort.
 
I have a whole thread to myself . Age of Pirates is one of the best games of its type I have ever played.

You have a large variety of ship types.
A squadron from one to five ships.
You gain levels and experiance and skills , along with the captains you hire and officers .
The graphics are amazingly good.
The sea battles are intense ...even on the easiest level .
You can just be a trader and develope that type of rep or be a smuggler and Pirate. Or you can be a Privateer working for a country..you can even defect to another country.
You can build your own ships and upgrade them to suit you.
You can take over a town after invading its port and either , Raze it to the ground...or loot and piliage.

Or take it over for yourself and assign one of your guys to run it. The stick around to defend it , from every country in the game :)

A very deep game .

Ok its really short.


The game sucks ..go buy RR tycoon and play a real game and save your money .

Hey. I have this game. And I don't think that it is so good as you said. It's not worthest game about pirates, but there are another more better games about pirates.

For example an add-on for Pirates of the Carribbean: "Sea Legend is Back", also known as A&M

It is an amateur add-on by studio Seaward.ru All gameplay of PotC is changed, no lineal subject, another RPG system (like in Fallout), and more other features....

This studio also make an other game, "Corsairs: The return of the Legend", made on Storm 2.5 engine. But I don't know will it editing (from "to edit" :)) sale in Europe and America.
 
I am playing Pirates of the Carribean ..its non linear anfd was released in 2003...but the mod community has really shown huge supprt and made a fine game out of it.

Bethsoft / akella version .
 
The patch is out and Age of Pirates has become fully modable.


It looks like we may be working with Russian modders on the same game....man thats soooooo cool .
