I went on a mission last night to post some times on the Hall of Fame leaderboard. So out I went with the thrusty 430 Challenge (an old favourite from FC) and surprised myself by posting the fastest lap at every circuit with the notable exception of Silverstone where I managed to post the third fastest time.

Now that's fine but the striking thing was that at Silverstone I was a massive 15 seconds off the leading time! I'm sure with a bit more work I could shave more time but I can't see how I could gain the full 15 seconds. The cars ahead had all assists on, could that make such a difference??

I then took a look at the overall lap record list for Silverstone where I have the third fastest time (1:29:76). I posted this when I was getting used to the game and I had assists on low settings but the funny thing is that I cannot get near this time now in Time Trial. In fact I am over 10 seconds off my own time!! What's the story??

There are a few peculiar anomalies with this game and the leaderboards. Under some conditions during an online race, if you wait at the grid and then take off after the field has left, it will show your car crossing the line and setting a time as if you completed a lap. Unfortunately it's tough to lock down and it doesn't happen every time. The only one that stands out as being repeatable is the 0.5 second time overlap on Time Trial between the first and subsequent laps.

You might want to report it over on the Eutechnxy forums. Unfortunately, I know it's been discussed before and they're not able to selectively eliminate times from the leaderboard and it would mean wiping everything clean.

It's just one of those strange things. I not bothered reporting it and I'm sure my times will drop down anyway when some of the really quick guys have a go at them!

It's the online racing which attracts me most and I'm looking forward to the ROC and Old Timer races.

It's a bug which was present even in Ferrari Challenge. Take a look at the Nurburgring world record. Yes, it's me! And it's unrealistically fast!

When I go into a time trial for the Nurburgring, it states:

World Lap Record: 1.34.53 AlanG184
Personal Lap Record: 1.49.59 AlanG184

So it looks like probably a server-side error when the time is being updated, because my SCC save file has my correct time. Pain the the Ass!!

Alan, I'm not sure but I think the "World Lap Record" is the outright Lap Record at that particular track with the fastest car (likely the 333SP). The Personal Lap Record (of 1.49.59 in that particular case) is the record with whatever car you're currently using in the lobby.

Yes, when I use the 333SP at Nurburgring, it shows those times. A 1.34 is a good 13 seconds into the impossible.

Oh and also, the world lap recorded stated is based on whatever car the user is in for that session (or just when viewing the times in the circuit list menu).

Jeff, I'm 99,99% sure that the personal lap record shown when the game is loading is "all cars considered", not your record with the car you are using at that moment.

@ Alan: take care not to double post, just use the "edit" button to add what you want (when your own post is the last in the thread). That's the policy here to avoid thousands of "avoidable" posts from hundreds of posters everyday. :)

To clarify:

In the circuit selection screen, it shows the personal and world records for the current car.

During a time-trial, the world record displayed is for the current car.

When quitting a time-trial session, the 'Time Trial Results' screen shows the session best, personal best, and world record for the current car.

The only place where it is outright is on the 'Lap Record Leaderboards'.

EDIT: From the Quick Race circuit selection screen, the laptimes displayed are outright, and not for the current car.
