Dear Cohort,
There I was tooling along SS route X, digging the scene with gasoline, and I pulled into the pits after 4 laps at 8000rpm in 6th, and the guy on the pump said I needed 39 litres! I'm looking at 8mpg, and that's the big (Aussie) gallons! At this rate I don't know how much longer I can afford to play GT5. What's everyone else getting? Do I need a tune up, or should I get a smaller car? Maybe we can car pool?

I personally dont know much about fuel consuption but i'll test out my slightly tuned EVO X to compare what im getting and get back to you

Did you go at full throtal the whole time? If so cars consume way more fuel going full throtal than they normally would.

I was wondered if the game has the same MPG as they do in real life. It seems to me all cars are using the same fuel consumption at full throttle

Nope, believe me, I've had my fair share of online races where I put in to little fuel but by no going full throttle I managed to finish.

I beg to differ some of my cars will run out of gas after 4 or 5 laps WOT at SSRX.
Others can do the entire 10 laps without needing a drop.

Oh.... Yes your right, sorry. I misread what he said.:banghead:

thanks lads,
WOT all the way! Ryzno, I'll see if I can run something dry in under 5 laps.
yeah I recall doing the Laguna Seca Endurance A Spec in a Mini Marcos and the fuel went down very slowly.
I'll see how far I get on a tank in the Silvia (won't that be fun).
All the tanks seem to be 60 litres, right? I mean when you come into the pits and get the refuel option the range is between 0 and 60 litres.
In all fairness a 400hp Silvia is gonna do around 8 to the gallon at WOT. Back to the 2cv til payday.

Roughly, your Silvia is using 10 liters of fuel a lap. You'll be able to do 6 laps flat out before you run out of petrol.

Playstation Ford GT gets 5mpg WOT SSRX. Used 65 litres for 4 laps. My bad on 60l tank. Tank Car next....

GT5 says fuel consumption is based on power output. Take that for what it's worth.

What about the weight of the car? Isn't it one factor of FC?

Regarding the topic, you can also measure FC on SSR7 by driving your car for 10 laps in Arcade Mode and you can also see your opponents' fuel consumption in your replay once you finish the race. In my case, one of them was driving a Ferrari 330 P4 and after 10 laps, I noticed that the car still have many fuel left compared to the other cars in that race, which makes it the most fuel efficient. Well, that race is only for the cars that level. Cars with lower HP than those may obviously be more efficient. But the car I've seen so far that has the worst fuel consumption is the GT by Citroen concept. Even in Daytona, the car will give up if you won't refuel after 15 laps or so on. And those observations are always full throttled in every race. I think the conditions may also vary if what you're racing is about top speed or not.

If you drive any car around SSRX once at around 80 mph, you would use about 4-7 liters of fuel. In a Ford GT I got 4 liters.
