Your missing the point, bryan. This is a learning tool, it is to help people get use to sim tires. The settings will get gradually more indepth as it goes along. So please don't make comments like that here. I just took this car out, with these settings, around Complex String and made one of my best replays to date. Thus there is nothing wrong with these settings, they asre just different than you are used to. Why don't you try this out, and post a replay? ;)

I agree fully, but people just moan too much for HP. So I just made a compromise, so more people would give this a try. ;)

Exactly.. compromise... :) I fthere are people who wants to drift stock cars etc.. we can arrange something for you... these settings are guidelines.. and is solely to get use to this phenomenon of Sim-drifting... when this is all finished one should personalise the settings.. as per usual :)

in a week or two i might try to play or maybe buy a wheel lol it will be like driving a right hand drive (one hand on the wheel the right one)

I'm only in if my mom's digi cam can take more than 1 min vids. They dun want me carrying my 80 lb tv downa nd up the stairs anymore.

If you have a Sharkport or Xport, I will turn them into replays. ;)

I wasnt trying to be a jerk, just trying to offer a good setup to learn on.... Here it is for any1 that wants to try it.... I can get some very nice angles with it.
-------------------------------------------------------

S14 Silvia 200SX - 380HP

To Install:

Full Customize Suspension
Sport Brakes
Brake Balance Controller
Muffler: Racing
Sports Computer
Stage 3 Turbo
Intercooler: Racing
Full Racing Transmission
Triple Plate Clutch
Flywheel: Racing
Full Customize LSD
Carbon Driveshaft
Simulation Tires Front and Back
Lightweight Stage 3
----------------------------------------------

Setup:

Spring Rate: 5/9
Ride Height: 86/86
Shock Bound: 5/6
Shock Rebound: 5/6
Camber Angle: 3/0.5
Stabalizers: 5/6
Brake Balance: 9/19
LSD:
Initial Torque: 40
Accel Torque: 35
Decel Torque: 25
Gears: Auto Level 28
ASM: 0
TCS: 1 (optional, but best for beginner drivers to learn better throttle control)
-------------------------------------------------------------------

Tips: take the turbo kit down to 2 or 1 to reduce hp if u have a hard time controlling the throttle. I've ofund that throwing a quick rev to overpower directly after braking throws the car into a very balanced slide that is easy to control, more so than any other car I have drifted with in GT3. Hope you guys like it.

Here's a setup for the S14.

Full Custom Suspension
Sports brakes
Racing Transmission
Triple Plate Clutch
Racing Flywheel
2-way LSD
Carbon Driveshaft
Lightweight Stage 3

Spring Rate - 7kgl/mm (front), 5kgl/mm (rear)
Ride Height - 86mm (front and back)
Camber - 4.0 (front), 1.0 (rear)

If I don't mention other settings then just leave them alone.

Spring rate 5/9? Wouldn't that naturally give you a lot of oversteer? In any case, those are too many suspension changes for us right now, IMO. :)

I had difficulty trying the S14 settings with 17/17 braking, because my style is to brake mostly in a straight line. The weight would shift towards the front so much that it would be hard to put it back towards the rear on acceleration... since there's little rear traction at that point to begin with.

Tried to compensate with less braking and more accel (and then turn + brake), but still seemed too tedious... so switched over to 13/24 brake balance and it's much better now. (*'-')b

Still can't work with the additional mods on the 180sx. :(

Well, I can see that this thread has gone to ****. Bryan those settings are weird, I think you need to rethink them IMO. Also, Battle those are the settings I use most of the time, but for this comp, I had to compromise, or no one would even try. Anyway, If anyone wants this to continue, I suggest we stay on topic, and stop posting your individual settings, that's not the point. "sigh" Whatever, do what you like.
;)

I wish my mom would give me the freaking digital camera back, lol.

And since this is a learning workshop, SilviaDrifter, whats wierd about those settings? I like my cars very responsive :)

1. the stabilizers are counterproductive for drifting (in GT3)
2. Too many power mods (unnecessary)
3. too much tuning (the car drifts fine stock)

Anyway, I will post my lap tomorrow. Is anyone else going to try, or should we just let this thread die?;)

I'm going to stick to the set settings in the first post... took me two tries to come up with a decent replay to post (S14) and only one lap with modified 180sx... just 1 lap!! Amazing.. these settings work for me... so guys... keep it up... and don't get side-tracked by individualism... that's what makes us unique.. (blah!blaH!blah!)

It's just maybe a coincidence that these settings work for me, or, maybe they are just tooo d@mn Badazzz that you just have to apply skill... whateva the case... have fun, and that means changing the settings to suit your needs... but please mention the settings change when posting your vid... for those who want to try them out... agreed???

Saved a decent replay with the S14 13/24 brake bias. Lot more smoke than before, but slower than possible through the corners. It'll be up later today. Till then. :)

Bryan C. this is only the 2nd stage of the sim-adventure. We're all here to learn. Sure you have a very good settings of your cars, but this is going step by step, and don't be impacient.

By the way, the new step of the RPS13 is a way better than in the 1st stage (for me).

I've done the lap with the S14, I've only to record the replay and upload the vid. I got the hang of the car quickly and it's very good.

you's have already seen my Midfield so i didn't feel like making another vid... here the vid of my old one and the settings...
