Long time lurker first time poster. Just ordered a cockpit last week from sim-seats.com. I was looking for an affordable seat and this one looks like it will fit the bill. Will post some pics when it comes in. If anyone has one let me know how you like it. 👍

Looks like a good alternate to the playseat. And playseat is all out of stock right now. Almost there entire inventory

Looks flimsier than a PlaySeat frame... but I like the seat more. Once you add the shifter stand for the G27 looks like a push price-wise. Can't wait till you get it and hit us with some pix!

i am siked for this review! They are somewhat local (hrs drive) and the SR2 is in my top 3 of rigs looking to purchase.

What wheel/pedal combo are you running? I know they do custom work. Any custom work being done?

I Would love a review too... I don't know anywhere closer to me that makes a decent cockpit and the price is fantastic too.

Didnt have any custom work done just using the Logitech GT wheel. Im hoping it will be shipped sometime next week. Fingers crossed.

I emailed them asking about customization for the Fanatec shifter....waiting for a reply, gonna be buying something soon.

I still have not gotten the tracking info yet saying it was shipped. Probably send them an email tonight asking for an update.

Is sim-seats the only place to get a lower priced cockpit in north america?

I haven't really seen anything except the super high-end stuff that's made here.

Not sure what low priced is to you but I picked up a obutto $502 shipped from west to eastcoast. In route and in stock.

Wow I just checked the Obutto site and I had thought they were a lot more expensive than that.

The quality looks great and I looked at their store and they have a Canadian dealer! $359 for the base model.

I think I just found exactly what I needed. Thanks!

Thats great I hope you are happy with it! 👍

I still would have loved to get a sim-seat rig since they are somewhat local but I would have gone the full custom route which would have been out my price range I think.

Alright guys and gals it has shipped today so probably will not be at my place until next week. Thats my guess anyways hopefully sooner.

That's pretty cheap. It's 479 for Americans, or am I missing something?

Does the Obutto fold down well? How about the Sim-Seat? That's a pretty important aspect for me - must be able to put away with ease.

Alright I got this on Friday and unpacked and put it together and this is what it is:

Now for the review. I put in a good 5 hours with it and it is a decent seat although I dont really have anything to compare it to but for being about $250 which is includes shipping it will serve me alright since Im coming from a TV tray with the wheel attached and the tray sliding across the floor if there was any kind of feedback. Everything on the cockpit feels sturdy and doesnt move while I am playing. Word of caution if you are a big guy you probably wont fit in the seat Im 6' and 185 and the seat is pretty snug. So all and all Im pretty satisfied with the seat.

Oh cool...glad you dig it! I was looking at the model above this but it looks like the only difference is the actual seat....so I glad to hear its stable. I'm coming from the same TV tray setup! any chance for some video of you racing?

I am thinking about purchasing the SR-1 with gear shift holder and seat cover. The SR-2 seat looks too big for my room. Do you think sliders are needed? Also, I notice you are using some type of padding to help protect the floors. What are you using? Overall, How are you liking the rig? Thank you for your feedback.

Got a question in regard to leg room when shifting. I am also looking at a Sim-seat setup but like the Playseat design, I am worried that the bar in between the legs will be uncomfortable and hinder driving. Do you find any issues with this?

I also have the sim seat sr 1. I do heel toe downshift with it with no problems. I adjusted the brake and gas pedals to the farthest right on the G27 ( you really dont have to) . Personally, I don't even notice the thin bar. However, if you are worried about it...i think they are coming out with a new design that has no middle bar. For the price, it is a great alternative. The only thing i will say is...you need the seat cover for the bucket seat. I also bought a cheap lumbar support to place behind the cover. Now I can drive for hours. If you have more questions let me know

Don´t forget that the cockpit is not straight.
Might sound crazy but the seat, wheel mount position and screen is not centered.

I´m sure it´s a good cockpit though, probably the one i would buy but it´s a strange thing for sure.
