Sim tires, AWD, whats your fancy

Hey guys i have noticed that most people on here really dont care for drifting awd cars. And most use sims. I can drift the awd's way better than the rwd's because of the fact that if i get a little to lose there is that 12% front drive that pulls the front back out(i set the front to 12%). I can drift some of the rwd's like the Altezza especialy, but the awd is so much better. Also, sims. I have allot of trouble with these things. Spin out city. I always use normal tires, they have slight more traction. What do you guys use? Awd's? Sims? If sims how do you keep them from driving like they are on ice?

As far as you drifting an AWD. Well, I don't drift them so I can't really comment. However, I can comment on the Sim tire topic. Sims are harder, period. But this is a good thing. It teaches you control and precise inputs. No longer can you just throw the wheel and mash the throttle. You have to be sensitive to the attitude of the car. I once felt the same way you do, you'll see that if you check the link, but I only drift on sims now(under 300hp) and my drifts are looking much better and my technique is growing by leaps and bounds. Keep trying on sims. Lower your HP a bit and give it a shot.

I like to have lets say my R34 with 1,072 hp with sims or super slicks. I can actually drift it pretty good with sims. Thanks for the feedback advice though swift.

Oh, if you think that the Sims are slower, try throwing your car into the corner without braking, trust me. They get very exciting when you do that.

I use all tires, depending on the way the car is setup (HP, Weight, Torque, etc...). However, I will agree that sims are the best tire to not only teach you good control, but also because of the slightly altered (more realistic) physics system.... Learn to drift well using sim tires and low HP... You will learn better control, because you are forced to use good technique to drift....

You can drift the AWD's better than the RWD's because AWD's are much easier to drift..... I have always been primarily a FR drifter. However, I decided to put together an AWD vid. So I bought all the cars the first day (24 cars), and tuned them. Then the second day I did all the drifting. Then I spent quite some time on the editing, making sure it was just right.... So you can see how easy it is, if it only took me a day to get over 60 clips..... It took me quite a while to reach 60 clips drifting FR's, and MR's.....

As for AWD's.... As you can see by watching the vid in my sig (Countersteer Zero) I am an avid AWD drifter, as well as FR, MR, RR, and even FF.... I use anywhere from 300hp to 550hp on sims (AWD), most of the time.... Also, I use a VCD setting of either 40% or 50%, for the true AWD experience... I find that it allows for much bigger angles, with minimal use of countersteering....

wow! 40%. I always have mine set no more than 20%. I guess you could say its similar to cheating with a FR car. Basically youve got that little bit in the front to pull you around when times get tough. Two of my friends have AWD cars, one is an EVO 7 and the other a impreza 2.5rs. The one with the evo said(i dont know ive never been in the car with him 💡 ) that he can adjust the power to the front and rear from the cockpit. Says he keeps it on 20-80. But like i said i dont know, but i can say that there are very very few evo 7's in the states. I think that there were 6 that came here, 4 for 2 fast 2 furious and 2 for customers. Anyways, thanks for the advice. Dont get me wrong i can drift the hell out of the sims but i do prefer a little more power so i go with normals or sports. But like you said Silviadrifter, it all depends on hp, fp, etc. Oh yeah your vid was pretty nice by the way. 👍

i got an amazing skyline that i made once and i gotta say that it does some wicked drifts.
i love it its one of my favorite drit cars.
i get do my zero countersteer.

Yes SD is very right you can get more than 90 degrees on AWD cars because the frount tire is pulling the car forword and it allows u to get more than 90 degrees ........I like realism and when I drift a AWD I put my VCD setting to no less than 40% and i can drift with no counter steer ......so again SD is very right!
