I loved SimCity 3000 and 3000unlimited but SC4 is iimpossble in that its not as simple or user friendly. I mean how do you get big buildings to form....Its too realistic for its own good....Then again i played it on my PC (3years old) so right now as i type its installing on my laptop (BRAND NEW) and it has better processor(AMD 2600+) and more space(40GBb) and radeon graphics card so it should run smoother and great looking as well so maybe it'll work better for me then....though the drives read speed is much slower than my PC.....(only 24x compared to my PC's 52x) Anybody got tips or cheats...?:confused: :confused: :D :D :( :O :lol: :banghead: :mad: :eek: :p yup....
 
No, SC4 is just a lot harder than SC3000. Exactly the way that I (and most SC players) like it. There is a slight problem with the bigger buildings appearing in you city. Installing the patches will fix them.

As for cheating, go to gamefaqs.com, if you're not up to the challenge.
 
Funnily enough, I've found it a lot easier to get going in SC4 than SC3k. The gamefaq guides are excellent. SC4 is much more of a 'macro' game than SC3k, and you need to play region aspect of it as well, which I must say I've found really rewarding.
 
I could never get anything going in SC3000. I could populate the whole map and have a perfectly happy town in SC2000. I was thinking about giving the new one a try. Maybe it would tickle my fancy.
 
Same here - I got some monster towns going in SC2K, including one that's completely FULL, apart from the river, with this great ring road expressway.
 
SC3000unlimited (known as some thing else in UK and ASIA) is the best by far!!!It's easier than anyother version and my faveorite...but i just found if you make a residential zone (light) in SC4 about 6x7 and speed up time for like 20 minute to the fastest speed large houses will form but in Light residential! now my ity has huge houses at the outskirts and its all fancy like. but the only way i made it that far was to use money cheats.....sorry if I have bad speling im in a hurry
 
Wow I can't believe there is not a bigger Simcity presents here. I used the search function. Let me know if I missed something.

I have been working on this region for over 10 years. This is the 1st time I have not loaded Simcity 4 on to a gaming machine.

Now I have it on a cheap $400 Windows 7 laptop. It runs as fast as it ever did on my old gaming rigs.

I did some research, and installed it into a new folder called "Games". I have read that if you install SimCity into the default "Program Files (x86)" folder, there is trouble. Lots of crashes.

I have had no trouble.

This was my favorite game before Gran Turismo went online.
