Simple name .svg

Can someone please instruct me on how to make a simple name banner? I have tried with all of the various software out there and I can seem to get rid of the background and just leave the name. This would be greatly appreciated.

Download & run Inkscape https://inkscape.org/release/inkscape-0.92.4/ and enter the text you want. Press Ctrl+A to select all the text you typed. Across the top menus find: Path - Object to path. This converts the text to a path so GT Sport can understand it. Whilst having the text still highlighted go to: Edit - Resize page to selection. Now go to: File - Save as, and save as a "Plain SVG". Run the file through this app to ensure it's optimised https://jakearchibald.github.io/svgomg/ then upload to gtsport in the usual manner. No worries, it's great to learn how to get it done. Before GT Sport came out I had no idea SVG files even existed, but now I'd like to think I can turn my hand to quite a few decals. Thanks. I knew about the thread, but I didn't want wear out my welcome by asking for numerous decals. I just needed a little help making my own, and in the future, maybe helping others. Pay it forward as they say.
