I was doing a 10 race series last night and skipped one because I knew I was going to win the rest. I thought I heard somewhere that I can take the championship as long I still win in points, and win the car, etc. Is this true?

It was late. I was tired. Can you guess which track I skipped?

Yes,... as long as you win the points championship,. it doesnt matter (a tie makes you lose),....

SSR11 or Test Course,... depends on the mood I guess  👍

Either the Test Course or R11. That's the one I almost always skip.

Yes, you will take the Championship if you are ahead on points. However, unless you have more than 10 point lead going into the last race, the save-and-reload trick won't work.

[edit] Dang! RER treed me. [/edit]

Yes, RER has it right. You can actually skip more than one if you are that far ahead in points. One additional trick that you can use is to exit the race after you qualify on the pole. This does not award you points, rather is only awards the second place 6 points instead of ten. Which can attribute to a points strategy win.

I'll guess Test Course.

R11 is right. I'd already suffered through test course... fidgeting around to stay awake, switching views over and over... after that I just didn't have it in me. And even then I didn't finish the series. The PS2 is still on as I couldn't even get through the next race (Grand Valley ll I think). That test course is so stupid. They never should've put it in the series. Maybe one or two laps but five or ten is a joke.

Thanks for answering.

I swear that test course is designed to put you to sleep. The constant monotone hum. The lack of scenery. The lack of any challenge. I hate it.

You can always screw with the AI :D

Test Course is probably the purest endurance race there is.

I forget to screw with the AI. I'm too focused on getting it done as fast a possible. But I'll remember that. I should've skipped it instead of R11 because I actually like that one as long as I'm up for it.

Yes I know. But I'd gotten so tired, so fast, and was slamming walls and flying all over the place. And I just didn't want to loose the race due to fatigue, so I paused it and went to bed. I shouldn't have started it. I can't even remeber which race. Now I'm thinking it might have been Seattle?

I'll finish it up tonight.

What race series are you doing? With what car?

To make Test Course more entertaining, they should've made a 20 foot long section of track that narrowed to a tunnel that is 1 car width. That would make it pretty entertaining. Or atleast keep you awake.

I actually fell asleep doing a 15 lap race on R11. I came home at about 2AM really drunk. I had energy so I continued a series I was saved half way thru on. It was R11, I think 15 laps and I was using the Nissan R390 race. I fell asleep on like lap 5 or 6. I woke up momentarily and I think the computers were either close to lap 15 or done the race. I just turned off the PS2 and passed out.

i've had times where i be on lap 5 and i would get really board. then next thing i know im on lap 15. I hate that, i call it "missing time" bec uase you have no clue what you did in the last ten laps, but MOST of the time i am still in 1st when i come bnack 2 earth.

I do it sometimes right b4 i pit in. I only pit in when it is really really nessesary (bright red tires) and i ALWAYS daze out right befor the pit, ALWAYS!!. SO 75% of the time i drive right past the pit or i will slam into the damn wall sticking out in the road with the big "pit" sign. This really hurts me when my tires r really red and i keep passing the pit.:(

I just skip the Test course and go back to them using my GT one on them with the wheelie trick to make it more entertaing and faster. On the straight away i always make it up to 1200mph and get around the curvers pretty quick so its not as boring.

route 11 is the easiet track to race in..if u know it from the back of ur head...lol..thats me..but screwing weith AI is fun..lol i messed with a viper onece in laguna seca...and i made it spun around and arounfd and mde him last place..lol

How many people do that in real life?

Before I moved, there was a road to my house that took 15 mins to drive. I'd start driving on it and suddenly I'd be home, or in the city, whichever way I was going. It's ****in scary with the realization that I was driving on a curvy road with soft dirt shoulders at 60 mph for 15 mins and I can't even remember doing it. Happened all the time on the way to and from school. And, no, I've never touched drugs, lol. :p

Actually I kind of like this track when I have the energy. This is the race when you can sort of play god by playing around with the AI.

After I lapped the other cars, I will just nailed the car that has the highest points below me... and make that car last in this race... this will increase my winning margin thus save me time... Usually I can win a series by just race in 7 out of 10 races...:D

lol - I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who needs to tape the eyelids open to run this track. I always thought that it was because of my age though. :D

Well you're older than me, and I aint no young pup ;) . But it's boring as hell. Repetitive sounds, like a motor humming along at a constant rate, and a long strip of gray running toward you, no scenery or anything to look at, sustained for ten minutes or more, will put just about anytone to sleep, especially at the end of a long day. I think when my new baby won't fall asleep I'll prop him up in my lap and do five laps on the test course. We'll both be ready for bed.

Be careful though. The drool potential between the two of you would be enormous. ;)
