How can there be a event where all the participants start at the same level? Doesn´t we all dream of certain cars and tracks we want to experience a full grid race? How can all this be matched together?
My solution: At a certain date we gather in a room, there will be one person who dedicates a car and another person announces the track. - short breake to get the car (if you don´t have it already) - .
Then a new room with settings for track and car and then starts practice, qualifying and race.
The result of the race is base for the procedure for next race. The one on fifth place appoints the track and the one who selects the car which is third or fourth place winner of the previous race.
For example:
Sunday at 17:00 opening the room
Last race fifth place will announce who is selecting the car, saying third or fourth place winner of the previous race (in peoples absence the host will decide)
Then the track will be announced.
Room will be reopened by the host as soon he has his car.
Practise session (30 min)
Qualifying session (30 min)
Race session (60 min)
The great advantage will be: everyone can have the chance to be the one to select his dream car or just for fun a car which wouldn´t be chosen anywhere else (try the "nordschleife" with a Citroen 2CV, a Honda S500 ´63 or a Triumph Spitfire - can be real fun)
I could imagine there were a lot of people who would use this appointment as a fixed date just to have fun at simracing without having to spent time for practising or anything else.
At last one more suggestion: It would be useful to have a fixed color code. Every participant should choose a certain color and or number to race with (where that is possible - of course).
A selection of 16 colors and numbers may follow.
Also there should be a number of different hosts in a rotation system so that no one should have to have the need of participation.
One season should be a year the race results winning points and the three with the most points at the end of the season gets a price.
