GT Academy.

No one can deny that through GT Kaz has delivered some serious racing talent into the world of real track racing.

GT games have been used as tools, evaluators and seperators of the Gran Turismo elite.

It seems strange to me then that the general retail experience seems watered down or as though PD would like to hold my hand. I find nothing wrong with giving the casual gamer an experience they can enjoy, but what about the other guys, the guys looking for as realistic experience as possible?

Let me ask you.

Do you want enforced Skid Recovery Force in any kind of event at any point in your GT driving career?
Do you want track sections such as grass or run off strips to enforce any kind of driving aid?
Do you want tardy rubber banded AI opponents?
Do you find Gold standard general too easy?
And do you want to have to change your settings for every single car you buy and every new event you enter?

If you answered no to any of these options vote for an 'Academy' difficulty setting.

The Academy settings would allow full control of our vehicle at all times (basically an 'all aids off' button with additional ABS slider for ALL cars). Thats no traction control, no braking assists and no hidden hand holding in off track situations such as gravel and grass (an extension to the 'real' track edge, and expanded to new additional 'off track' physics setting). And of course increased difficulty AI for more challenging scenarios on track and altered gold standard to reflect higher graded difficulty.

Academy difficulty should also promote clean safe driving. Addition to the penalty system for collisions into other cars would be implimented. If car A hits car B causing and exceeding movement to the value of 'X' G (G being the acceleration measurement) car power will be limited to 'X'% for 'X' seconds. Off track penalties would be abolished, however boundaries would remain as would 'red flag' laps. Consecutive or acumulation of 'X'% of 'red' laps to total distance would result in disqualification.
