I remember reading a description in one of the Gran Turismo games about a set of tires described as the simulation tires for the best driving experience. In GT5, would that set of tires be the comfort hard ? (For comfort, they say something like "best tires to perfect your driving techniques, or something like that).

I have more than 1070 cars right now (almost no duplicates) and I'm buying stock premiums. I keep the tires that comes with them as their "default simulation tires". Should I still put comfort hards on them or stick with the tires they come with for the best experience ?

I go with the stock tires as well. Usually low power cars come with worse tires than high power cars. That made more sense to me than to buy the same tires for a 80 BHP and a 500 BHP car...

I read that it is comfort mediums, and I also agree with Shirakawa. In free run rooms I always buy tires that are one grade worse than stock

also consider that semi-slicks used in nurb runs would be at most sports medium, and that racing soft tires have unrealistic grip.

I tend to agree with Akira and Avens.
Some cars though are just fine with the stock tires, some need one grade up, and some maybe two grades down.
This is just my preferences though, not a claimed realistic setting.

I almost always pick Comfort Medium tires on my road cars.

For example:
Real top gear Ford GT40 time: 1:21.9
My top gear Ford gt40 time: 1:22.399 (Comfort medium tires, no assists & stock, and done in online mode)

I believe i could've cut that time to 1:21.9xx if i had driven a little bit better.
With other cars, i could also achieve almost spot on times to the real top gear times.

So i believe the Comfort Medium tires simulate the real stock tires the best :)
