Hey, how's going-new here, duh! Not new to GT as a whole, but unfortunately had to wait until recently to get PS3 and GT5! I am 2 weeks in with all licenses, 31 rating, 2 b-specs racers both at 19 ratings, all beginner, amateur, professional, expert and all but 3 extreme series races won(golds). I know very well how to set my vehicles up for my style of driving. They are completely hooked up- very fast in turns, deep into corners, extremely stable and fast.

My question is: i just did an online race in the Open Lobby for the first time, curious to try out and while i entered my car i was doing some laps while waiting for the race to start and my car was all over the place-had time to exit to change cars and the next one was the same!? I ended up running the race but the car had to be near parked to actually turn, and unless i was pointed dead straight, it would spin out when accelerating! It was like i was on rims only on a oil slicked slip n slide! I got out of that race and turned the system off-had things to do. Got back on couple hrs later and just decided to do some of the races i need to do and every single one of my vehicles now drives like this!!!! I spent over an hr on multiple vehicles change set ups to NO avail. I read online somewhere about a 'bug' https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=237539 -but this sounds like issues for online play only, not something that affects your game overall.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! I cannot play this game the way it is and GT is unfortunately something I don't think i can swallow having and not being able to have at the same time. It's amazed me how long I've actually waited (had to) to get this game and now that i have it- I'm in heaven. Please please help. Sorry soooooo long, trying to give some background.

Sorry, can you repeat that? :sly:

The online physics are quite different to offline physics, so that could be a reason.

Understand that; but why is it affecting all my cars in my garage now, online or not? I didn't really think too much of it when in that race because it was online, now can only assume my issues are because of that.

I don't know. Maybe you turned TC off, or changed onto worse tires.

Harder tires are the normal cause of this behavior my friend. Has happened to many people.

As I am curious to know, can anyone tell me how different the online/offline physics are and possibly why they would be different. Thanks.

Have checked EVERYTHING. Tires were first and obvious choice as the problem but is not the case. Unless my settings are not truly what I'm setting them to, but that couldn't possibly be. Just spent anotherhr trying to figure it out and is still completely out of whack! Any car i get into acts the same.

Am i going to have to start all over to see if that fixes it? Should i create another user and play as them to see if acts same? If i save my data on flash and delete old then reload from flash do you think that could work?

Is is skid recovery force, or one of the aids that may have been changed?

The answer is quite simple if you would only take a closer look at things. When you were racing purely against AI in offline mode, you had your cars setup the way you liked true, but you also must have set things such as TC, Skid Recovery, Active Steering, ABS. Now, you went into an online lounge to race, but you entered a restricted one, one that the room owner had forced those things off, but you didn't notice. You're not used to driving without those aids turned on so were all over the track. Then when you tried out racing your cars offline again, those changes carried over from the online room affecting every car. Try it. In A-Spec make sure you're in Automatic Transmission mode for a race. Then go into an online room and set any car you have to manual trans, race a bit, then exit. Now go back into any A-Spec race and see where it's set for any of your cars. It'll be in manual mode guaranteed. Well the same goes for all those other settings as well, they are "Driver/driving Options", thus are affecting all cars.

Ok, thanks for the suggestion. I now think your probably right. That being said, when i started GT5i went into 'driving options/assist'and was sure to set everything to off or a low setting if anything because i like to have it as real as possible and I'm not going to flaunt my stuff if I'm getting 'assistance'. So i spent 3-4 hrs today in 2 cars, R390 mainly as i had used that car in a seasonal race on Grand Valley doing appx 40 laps in the last day or so, so i knew how it was at every turn, where i could go all out, hold turns, where my time should be at almost every turn! So the car was set up exactly how i have it and i just played around w the driving options only. After over a 100 different combinations, some subtle and some extreme, i could not get it truly close to how it was-kinda close but not really. STILL LOOSE, plain and simple. I have no idea what i could have had it set at previously.

If you have a set up for this car you'd suggest please share cause I'm out of options! I did get a few other less performing cars, still fast and yes race cars, to get very close to how they were but but you can tell they're not quite right.

Side note: i did a race with R390 before in seasonal events where i chased down jaguar purple yellow white race car-took me appx 1 and 1 half laps to catch and pass it and i finished 25-30 seconds in front of it after 5 laps. Just now it took me all 5 laps fighting the R390 the whole way and winning w 5 second lead. funny the computer takes over when the race is done and times are displayed, it spun out on the very next corner and the car actually slows down doing it's 'victory lap'.

Using Swype on my phone- apologize for any odd words showing up...

You must have had skid recovery on.

Iwent online for the 1st time since updates (2.0+) and was surprised how "Loose" cars felt especially under braking wagging the tail, but when I went back to offline the car felt normal again, I have all aids off.

So you must have entered a lobby with all aids off and that has transfered over.

Make sure you set all your cars up online in your lobby as they transfer to offline just fine but not the other way!

Did you do all of this before you updated the game?

I had a Toyota Minolta that had something like that happen to it. For some reason after an endurance race it went haywire and drove like the Kubelwagon afterwards.

I ended up writing down my settings and then defaulting everything on the car. It fixed it.

Though if it's all your cars, it was probably just the driving settings. I normally drive with all the aids off anyway and a lot of other people do also, so they wouldn't notice the difference, but you would if you normally have them on.

I got the game new and it updated my first day. I normally have all aids off, but after the online race some were on. Even turning them off it was still loose even with it set up how i normally have it.

I went into another online race though to see if that might trigger something, and sure enough-after exiting out all is now good. THANK GOD! Back at it again now. Thank you all four your help!
