what a great place but dont go there if you dont have a lot of money everything is very expenisive.
being a car freak I found it intersting I was picked up at the airport by a fairly new Mercedes Benz E200, I soon noticed that the cars there are all very modern ,and asking our drive he told me that cars are very expensive there (Ill tell you more Later) and it costs a lot to keep a car that is more than 10 years old there as you have to pay a higher premium to keep it.and that ever car must a yearly inpection to keep it on the road
I soon also relized that being picked up by a Mercedes Benz was nothing special they were every where them and BMW's and honda's they and also so very common to see a Merc or BMW taxi
just for fun one day I counted the cars at the Traffic lights out of 15 cars once 5 where Mercedes 3 BMW's and the the rest was a combination of other Japanese cars.
being the Jag man that I am I wasnt let down as I saw plenty Of Jag's also and even 2 Damiler Super 8's but there is also a good collection of porsches's and Ferrari's.
and I got a couple of real treats one nights walking back to the Hotel packed out front was something a couldn't help but noticed it was RED and SLEEK a Ferrari 360 what a sight it was beautifull I was in love, but there wa smore to come this was the apitiser, the next night while returning back to the hotel it was there again but packed a couple of cars away ( should say a couple of Merceds away There was a yellow spider Version the old red one was nothing to this what a way to go.
Now my room was that the front of the Hotel on the 11th floor I could look down at the entrance to the Hotel from my room after these to sightings I was always looking down just to see waht was there as the Hotel was often holding a confrence there hence the Ferrari's being there, well after seeing the 2 Ferraris the next night I was looking down from my room jsut to see if they were going to grace me again when I noticed something else there, now form the 11th floor looking down on top of a car it is not that easy to fully identify cars and down there was something orange and I knew it looked somthing special, but I wsnt sure exactly what is was tillI came down the lift to go out for a meal that night that I really what it was . I was Dumb struck from the moment I saw it side on I knew ONE LAMBORGININI MURCILAGO it was sitting there in all its glory .. its like seeing the unbeleiveable yes they are real I have seen one and first impression I was amazed that how short this car is it is not a long car wide but short. that wah my hightlight of my stay.
now as I metioned earlier cars are expensive there while in a book shop I found a Singapore car magazine and it had car prices in it .now for my Assie friends I was getting 92 cents for every Australian $ so its pretty close to $ for $ some examples I notcied at pricing a Hyindui Accent is $69,000 a Honda Civic was around the $75,000 mark the cheapest Jaguar was an X Type was nearly $150,000 and about the same for a Mercedes and the starting point for a Rolls was the Big $1,000,000 so for a Ferrari 360 you needed at 3/4 of million and The Murcilago was POA and when you think you can only really keeps these cars over there for 10 years .. I'm gald I dont live there
