Single player mode really needs this

One week into the game and having a lot of fun, but I can't stop thinking about the absence of an important and easy mode to implement for the offline players like me. Why can't we set up our own races? This mode together with the removal of the frustrating rubber band would greatly extend the life of this game. Has there ever been a GT that included this mode?

Yes. GT2 had an Event Maker that would let you string together up to five or six races, and it would even calculate prize money for wins. It was a little less than what you got in the pre-built races, but at least you got something for your effort, and it was a fun diversion. And I expect that PD is working on some kind of event builder for us as an update. How else would we create events online?
 
Don't forget that GTPSP had an event maker as well. The downside was that the PSP game didn't have any other career mode, as well as the fact that the entire dealership was rotation based like GT5's used car dealership.
