I didn't think it was possible, maybe now I'll buy a PS3 Singstar, knowing that I'll be able to play the PS2 several discs I got.
But something alse caught my attention. It was this comment (listed in the link as comment #7):
"Sony ARE making all PS3s Backward Compatable via firmware update by February 09, They are in the very final processes of finalising BC bug fixing and will be making PS2 games available on the PSN too. so mr Zed Zee - just shut up and keep the faith."
Never heard anything about this, but it sure would make me very happy. I always thought that BC compatibility was an hardware issue, not to be solved through the software/firmware. However if this can be done in Singstar (I guess it's not only the music and the videos from the Singstar DVDs that can be seen/heard, but the whole gameplay/rating system, whatever else) ... why can't it be done with Gran Turismos 3, 4P, 4 or any other PS2 title?
Note to mods: I hesitated about opening a new thread about this, thought about posting either in the PS3 "general" or "firmware update" threads. However, since it specifically mentions the singstar games BC I opted to open a new thread. If my judgment is wrong, please accept my apologies and merge this in the thread you think is more apropriate.
