Site Downtime

I'm very sorry about GTPlanet being offline tonight. I was attempting to install software to speed up PHP on the server, and instead killed MySQL. Although I got the site running again thanks to some hail-mary tactics, there is a chance it could go down again when I make my next attempt (not tonight, though).

I did talk with many of you on AIM and MSN Instant Messenger about the downtime - please be sure to add me to your contacts list (see my signature for more)!
 
You're lucky I couldn't find my fav whois before you signed off...
Next time you won't be so lucky ;)

I figured you killed MySQL when i seen that it said mysql_connect() was undefined :p

After all.. something like that CANT be undefined unless you killed MySQL since its a core command ;)

Wow, it gave me quite a shock last night. ;) I knew you'd get it up and running by the time I wake up though... :)
 
well nothing happened to me that time but like 2 or 3 hours ago it said WebSite not Responding

Yes, I just restarted the server a few hours ago, so that's what it was. :)
 
oh thats what its is and can you reply to MazKids thread Private Messaging suggestions i gave a suggestion that you can do something about it.... and do you ever go on AIM?

I just replied to MazKid's thread. I only log onto AIM when the server is offline and I don't know when it will be back online.
