Site loading slow today?

Probably not related to the new server, but just today I've been experiencing problems with GTP and GTP alone, it has been on and off incredibly slow to load and sometimes can't load at all. Definitely happening with other sites for me.
 
Everything looks to be running fine at the moment, Paulie, and it's running normal for me. Are you still having problems?
 
This problem was happening to me for a few hours yesterday as well. Tried to log on and the site wouldn't load at all.
 
Yep, I was experiencing slow downs as well. It was getting to the point where pages wouldn't even load, then it would be fine for a few minutes and then back to being slow.
 
Yeah, thought it was just my PC but obviously not. All good now though.:)
 
It was fine for me all day yesterday. It is strange that the problem only seemed to effect you Australians.:crazy:
 
I'm glad I wasn't the only one, but that's a strange occurence indeed that only Aussies had the problem, and uniquely to this site ruling out a general Australian internet issue. Same symptoms for everyone.:odd: Working fine now though.:confused:
 
Working fine now but something was definitely up, thought it was my end but I guess not.
 
Yep, it seems everyone had the same problem and everyone thought it was there end.:lol: I thought it was my net dropping out.:lol: But good to see it's all fine now.:)
 
Well I figured it was my end based on the fact that GTP was the only site and Internet communications that were not function normally.
But all the same the problem was whacked.:D:tup:

Yup, same here, and I'm on a 70Mbs Connection, happened since Monday. Probably to do with government firewall :sly:

I've already deleted 8 off topic posts form this thread. This thread is here to help Jordan solve any problems that may be occuring with GTP. He should not have to wade through reams of off topic posts in order to get to the pertinent ones.
 
I also had this problem yesterday evening local time or 8a.m. UK time...

But so far, it's owkey here... :)
 
Thanks to other Australians for chiming in. Many other U.S.-based sites could still be fast for you, it all depends on their bandwidth provider and what inter-continental tubes the data is traveling through. There's not much any of us can really do about the issue, but it would be interesting if you guys could post traceroute results so we can see exactly where the problem is occurring. To do that, open a command prompt on your computer and type the following commands:

tracert www.gtplanet.net > C:\trace.txt
tracert www.gtpla.net > C:\tracecdn.txt
​
This will create two text files at the root of your C drive (wait until the commands complete and you are returned to the prompt), which you can paste here (please enclose the results in [code] tags or a fixed-width font such as Courier New) or upload as attachments. Do this twice: first while the site is loading quickly for you, and again when it is loading slowly. We'll compare the results and that should show us where the bottleneck is.

Jordan, just to report that a few hours ago I wasn't able to connect to gtplanet. Most of my tries failed and the few that didn't took ages to load and even then the forum pages were showing up with basic layouts and what I guess default fonts. This was a gtplanet thing only, all other sites I tried were loading quickly and perfectly.
