Just recently (I think two or so days ago) I came across this weird problem regarding the LEFT analog stick. Let's say for instance I'm using the internet browser. When moving the cursor using the left analog stick, movements that involve diagonals won't respond. I can move left, right, up, and down with no problems. But when trying to move down+right or up+left, the controller won't respond. If I push down+left with the stick, the cursor will react as if it's deciding whether to go straight left or straight down.

This happens during games too. Very difficult to play games like DMC4, ninja Gaiden, Uncharted, etc... help me!

cant help ya there. once in a rare while i get a similiar problem with the left stick. it just gets stuck and in dmc4, gaiden, resistance (any game really) my character continues 1 direction on its own after i let go.

hard to say which controller as they both look the same and are picked up randomly heh.

Could be caused by interference or a low battery. I have personally experienced control drop outs while playing F1:CE while in wireless connection mode.

I also had my 1st DualShock3 go bad on me. Oddly the effect was somewhat similar to yours, although in my case every time I tried to use the controller (wireless or connected by USB) the menu bar would act like I had the left stick held down, even if I was not touching a button. Soooo... although the least likely it is possible a component in the controller (or software driver) might be going bad. If it continues you might want to try to exchange it, either with the store you got it from or Sony. I'm guessing it is still in the 1 year warranty period.
