Hi guys, yet another complaint/question thread here. Whilst driving the Skyline Sedan today I noticed what seems to be a bug with the steering. I use a G25 wheel, and it was very sloppy/weak and unresponsive just off centre, which meant that to get anything really happening I had to apply quite a bit of steering angle. This was really dangerous when I was pulling out from slipstream and almost collected the car I was drafting because of the lack of response from the steering. It's also not very good for making small adjustments and corrections. Anybody else notice this?

Unless the Skyline Sedan is really like that in real life, in which case we'll have "fun" driving old cars (especially muscle cars) in the full game.

I have driven the sedan a few times (with a G25) and I never noticed it either.

Go drive it now then, right after driving an NSX or RX-7 or something, trust me, it's there.

Paulie, I drove the car once during 550pp RWD @DRC with my trusty Dualshock 3 and thought the steering was wonky.

At the time, I didn't feel like fixing it/working on it.

Mmm, the problem I am speaking of is probably only noticeable with a wheel, maybe only the G25 even.

i have a G25 and haven't noticed this. try messing with the force feedback settings. when i first got the wheel the steering was weak so i upped the FF to 7 i believe.

I use FF 10, and I'm comparing it to other cars.

I'll give the Skyline a spin during the intermission of the Oilers vs Avalanche game.

I also run with FF10 and my favorite car to drive is the NSX, so it should be a good comparison.

Next time I play I will run a few laps in the NSX, RX7 then try the 350GT sedan.

EDIT

Ok I just drove the RX7, NSX-R then the 350GT Sedan (V36) one after the other I and sort of know what you mean Paulie, although I don't have any off centre problems you meantion in the first post. The turn in is clearly less reponsive and the steering ratio appears to be more towards comfort then sports, but it feels as I expect the Skyline sedan to feel, it wont turn in responsive like the sports/perfromance cars.

I feel PD did a pretty good job at simulating it as a premium sports sedan (not a sports car and not a luxury boat), one thing I have always found strange though is the 370GT Coupe (V36) shifts and drives like an automatic yet the driver reaches for the shifter each time and the 350GT Sedan (V36) drives like a manual equipted car but the driver doesn't reach for the shifter, I think maybe PD mixed them up in that way dunno.

Oh and for a car I thinks steering is odd is the EVO X, take the car on a long straight and the steering seems to sensitive to me that the car is hard to centre and is twitchy and wanders like the car has neutral caster or toe out or something, with a wheel atleast.

Thanks for that confirmation there.👍 I guess this means that driving muscle cars in GT5 will be............interesting after all. Maybe they should have a new steering rack (with adjustable max turn angle) us a purchaseable performance part.💡

The Evo X does weave on straights for all wheel users, but can supposedly be fixed with the right front toe setting. I never tune or drive it myself so I'm not too worried.:banghead:
