Slashdot front page submission!!

I got a story posted to the front page of Slashdot! For those of you familiar with slashdot, you'll know how cool this is.

Unfortunately I've had quite a few prior submission rejected that I thought were better than a Canon camera update ... but this is still pretty sweet (:

(: Yeah I thought it was lame as I was clicking the "submit story" button, but it would have also fit nicely in my collection of rejected submissions so I went with it.

You should see some of the utter crap that gets accepted. And how many times has the same thing been posted near enough together for both submissions to be on the front page at the same time? I've lost track. Slashdot isn't anything wonderful, but it is fun. In a lot of ways I like the format better than the standard forum (GTPlanet-esque) because there is a certain quality control possible - even though they don't do a good job of controlling the quality ... and the readers have the ability to modify the effective popularity of posts. I set my viewing to 4, highest rated first. Makes slashdot a bit less of a flame war, and actually something I can get information from.

Camera sounds pretty heart-stoppingly expensive! Still, printing over WLAN and JetDirect: very cool.
