So has anyone else decided they hate themselves and their sleep schedule enough to play this game? If so, what's your best page count before Slender Man got you?

For anyone who doesn't know, Slender is an in-development, experimental horror game for PC/Mac. It's developed by one guy who built it while learning to use Unity.

Trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0BswJKtn_9o

He has released it for free up through the latest version (0.9.1) and intends to finish the game due to the recent popularity bump.

If you're familiar with Slender Man or the numerous back story media related to his mythos, you'll be terrified playing this. Plays a lot like Amnesia in that you can't fight back.

That looks quite similar to the second SCP game, the first being a never ending staircase that gets weirder as you go down and the second is set in an SCP facility where there's been a containment breach of the SCP that's made of concrete and iron rebar, and if you break your line of sight with it it rushes at you and kills you instantly. Sounds easy enough but you have to blink manually.

Oh and if you don't know what the SCP Foundation is, google 'SCP wiki' and you should find it, it stands for Special Containment Protocol and it's a collection of sci-fi horror stories revolving around a shadowy organisation that travels the world to find and contain bizarre anomalies that range from the genuinely unsettling to the frankly stupid, a good example of the latter is the biological wi-fi router that turns people into network nodes to transmit their physiological data, or the 'haunted' RCA cables that will play horrifying scenes of, well, horror on any TV they're plugged into. I don't think any of it is really, really scary or disgusting but I've read a few late at night and genuinely creeped myself out so I wouldn't recommend it to young children. Sorry for the huge almost instant off topic but this game seems to be in the same vein so if you like it you might like the SCP stuff.

I gave this a try a little earlier today actually. I wasn't convinced that it would be scary even though I'm generally not a big fan of horror movies. I was wrong, this game is actually pretty scary. That trailer doesn't really do it justice.

Resurrection of the thread, simply put I saw a video today a friend put up on Facebook of him playing the game. I decided to check it out, now I'm a complete wuss so I didnt want to play it but I got the wife to play and she stated quite clearly that games don't scare her, she was wrong. She is sat here in bed with a headache from stress playing it.

Pretty cool game, but not for faint of heart or big girls blouses like me.

My sleep schedule was already destroyed after reading 25 Creepypasta articles, Slenderman and Smile.dog already ruined it, so no, I'm not taking any chances with this one. (Don't look those up for the love of God DON'T. Smile.dog is rumoured to make anyone insane just by looking at it, and if it doesn't you'll have dreams of it and it always tells you to "spread it" meaning you have to send the picture to someone else.) God, no...

haha, this game's really simple, but awesome. I wasn't really scared by the slenderman 'cause I knew it was coming (wish I didn't, probably would've scared me more) but what really annoyed me/frightened me was the incredible loud sound... well in contrast to the really quiet atmosphere the game starts out with.

As soon as I got "caught" and the sound started I was like, "COMPUTER OFF OFF OFF!!!"
