Seeing as every other nation is getting in on the GT5 hype already i thought id get the ball rolling for us aussies.....personally i think/ i hope PD includes much more of aus than in GT4.... a greater variety of cars.. Holden... (HSV, older toranas, moraros ect..).. and dare i say it.. Ford.. phase 3 GTHO's ect... and please oh please include Bathurst.. i can imagine Driving around bathurst in my 1969 HT Monaro GTS 350... :) the new logitech wheel in my hands rattling away all the way down conrod... would be awsome

oh yeah, can u imagine being able to finally take a hot lap around Bathurst. I've had a go with some of the other racing titles around that incl. Bathurst, but nothing has ever come close to the real thing.. and PD do such a great job that im sure it would be fantastic in GT5.

I'd also love to do 2 versions of a Bathurst race, the 1000k and then the 24hr... i know the 24hr is no longer, but it would be allot of fun.

I've been around it a few times and no-matter what your driving, it's an amazing circuit, even the Maui motor home was fun going over the top of the mountain... 👍

With the 5 versions of Fuji in GT4, surely we can get Bathurst in GT5?

My aussie wishlist:

TRACKS
Bathurst
Eastern Creek
Phillip Island
Albert Park (what are the odds of getting the rights from Bernie?!)
Adelaide GP circuit

CARS (in addition to the current aussie cars)
Torana GTR-XU1
Monaro (at least 1 historic)
EH
Falcon GTHO
Falcon XR6T or XR8 (I know the FPV GT is there, but hey...gotta try)
Leyland P76

As I say, wishlist...fingers crossed.

yeah it would ne good if they included the current model VZ Monaro and XR8 Falcon and put up a championship event named Holden V Ford

and if they want to include the gokart tracks like autumn ring surely they can have Bathurst

oh yeah, Adelaide GP circuit would be nice too, and Eastern Creek, and Phillip Islands, ohhhhhh and Surfers Paradise  damn i love that track! but PD knows they are all better than the Japanese circuits so he wont let the world know them

Definately BATHURST!!!! +

*Ford Falcon GTHO Phase III!!!
*Ford Falcon (BA) XR6 Turbo
*Current Holden/Ford V8 Supercars

(They did a fantastic job with the (AU) Falcon V8 Supercar but I reckon the (BA) is WAY better!

p.s

I'll never forget driving around Bathurst - one of the best days of my life.

Although, driving a '93 Porsche 911 Turbo at Sandown hitting 220kph was bloody good too!

The Bathurst is EXACTLY what I wanted too! I remember watching the RX-7 Whoop ass in that race on TV. (plus I'm an RX Freak and the type R bathurst R is my favorite RX-7 of all time. I was so glad to see it in GT4.)

So far, it looks like I'm the second consecutive American to post in this thread. I love watching the Australian V8 Supercars as much as I like watching the JGTC. Unlike NASCAR here in the States, at least the V8 Supercars really do look like their streetcar counterparts give or take aerodynamic improvements, and perform about as much as their streetcar counterparts. They aren't called V8 Supercars for nothing. These machines don't LOOK too powerful, but they pack a punch under the hood. I think for the most part, Australia was represented pretty well in GT4, a big step up from GT3's lone Tickford racer. There are two Holdens, two exceptional FPVs, and Ford Australia's Falcon XR8 race car. I think an FPV GT was in a GT4 License Test. If you can have at least 5 cars from a certain company, that's good representation. I just wish that this great country was represented more in the next GT. I'd want to see Bathurst, Adelaide, and Surfer's Paradise in terms of real tracks, then for fantasy courses, I'd want to see a fantasy street course based on the beautiful city of Sydney. Photo Mode? How does taking a picture of your FPV GT with downtown Sydney and the Sydney Opera House at night in the background sound?

Australia needs to be better represented. I'm not mad about it, I just think we should give Australia a chance in Gran Turismo. Even more interesting, imagine being able to compete in a race series between American V8s vs. Australian V8s! You dig my vibe, PD?

I don't know enough of Oz cars to say about them really, but i'd love to have bathurst and more cars from the V8 Series in the game. Bathurst is a really great challenging track inj Toca Race Driver 2, i'd love see in marvellous P.D graphical glory

Love to see more aus' tracks( including Bathurst).Maybe a 24 hr enduro???

Also would like to see part of the Targa(?) Rally Tasmania included Too.This is a great Tarmac rally that is getting a lot of attention from Manufacturers and Drivers from all around the world,Hopefully PD can put less emphasis on the Dirt Rally sections(Which -in my opinion are crap :yuck: ) and more emphasis on Tarmac Rallys. 👍

Im an Aussie. I Hate Aussie cars, Love the Bathurst track. Would love to kick some Race driver freaks in the teeth by slaughtering them on Bathurst with a non V8 car. Sorry feelow Aussies, but Holden and ford are to up them self. But as an easter egg it be good as if they re enacted the kangaroo running on the road in a middle the Bathurst race.

Yeah, that kangaroo got OWNED on the track last year. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised to see someone came up with an OWNED! picture of it already. You know, fast car, unlucky kangaroo, "OWNED!" in big letters... then you use it against people on message boards who made asses of themselves, and you smile like you won a million dollars.

Anyhow, Australia needs to be repesented in a GT game. We got the cars, we just need the tracks. I don't care- real tracks, fantasy street courses, impress me. Of course, I would like a fantasy street course of Sydney with the Sydney Opera House in the distance and all. I'm kind of thinking of a setting like with Hong Kong- late evening and the sun is somewhat going down. Bathurst would be nice in a late afternoon setting. Sandown, maybe a partly sunny day. Of course, this is all granted that weather plays a certain part in track settings. Or how about this- a rally race in the good ol' Outback?

I'd like to see some tracks to give Australian car lovers a chance to fight it out in Australia. Dig a brother?

well i think the one thing we all can agree on is that a) PD is stupid if they dont include Bathurst b) more aussie car representation... would also be kool if logitech came out with a DFP with the shifter on the left..... Tru aussie style

Yeah we definalty need more of an australian influence,

I see alot of people posting posts that say that they love the australian cars, yet there are only 5 australian beauties. What is that??

five aussie beauties... first ive ever heard of that... but im sure they would be along the lines of

HT Monaro GTS 350
Phase 3 Falcon GTHO
HRT 427 (if it eva came out)
E49 valient
wouldt no the 5th lol... theres heaps of iconic aussie cars?? VL Walkinshaw Grp A, the XB or C (cant remember) which had the 1,2 at bathurst, Torana Xu1 and a9x.... sorry all u ford and chrysler fans but i only know holdens... but yer the list goes on... anyone know the real 5?

mrplo, I would have thought those people were referring to the 5 Australian cars included in GT4 (ie. Holden Monaro, Holden Commodore SS, FPV F6 Typhoon, FPV GT and the Tickford XR8 V8 Supercar.)

why post here then
i hate your non australian cars :)

I see nothing wrong with Australian cars. I think they need as much spotlight as many of us Americans want to see our cars and tracks represented. Only difference is that I don't think Australians would want to see twice as many cars as many of us Americans want to see significantly less Japanese cars and more American. I still believe Australia has some cars in a GT game, now all that's needed is some tracks, some Photo Mode locations... basically put Australia on the map more than in past times. Australians love their racing about as much as any other nation. I think the most popular Australian courses should be included to give the non-discriminatory Australian car fan some Gran Turismo love. Not hard to ask for, right? I think a handful of Australian V8 Supercars (I know more about the present than the past, so let's leave things at some of today's Australian V8 Supercars) would be a great start. Much like we have NASCAR in America, Australian V8 Supercars is perhaps the signature racing series in Australia. Those machines pack serious horsepower and the sweetest engine noise you'll ever hear (unless you can think of some classic sportscar racing machines with better noise). No better track in Australia than Bathurst, an Australian gut check with elevation changes aplenty, tough corners, and hard-fought racing. If PD gets Bathurst into GT5, then almost immediately, try to get the Bathurst 1000 available as an endurance race in which ONLY Australian cars can compete. Other tracks to pick up would include Surfer's Paradise, Eastern Creek, Sandown, and I'll even give non-Australian track Pukekohe some love. I think Queensland would be a nice challenge as well. The track sort of reminds me of Twin Ring Motegi, only that Queensland has more of a simple design with anything-but-simple corners.

The next step of the Australian maturation into Gran Turismo continues with an emphasis on location. Australia needs to be represented and represented well. Can you Aussies and Aussie fans dig me?

i dig it

i want au and ba ford cars ( stock not race ) , Ford BA Xr6Turbo * drools * , and no holdens HAHA, and definatly more australian tracks and V8 supercars,Russel ingalls #1 Stone Bros racer is king.

Bathurst is a must and some more Australian cars.

I don't really care for anymore Australian tracks as I think they are all boring, Mount Panorama is the best track by a long shot.

boring?
adelaide, eastern creek, barbagallo, oran park, symmons plains and philip island are anything but boring

Let us not forget that other torture test- Surfer's Paradise. And make sure that Canberra street course NEVER EVER makes it into a GT game. I played it in "Pro Race Driver," and all the off-beat corners and tight streets made this course a complete nightmare.

VIPERGTSR01, that was one of the primary criticisms I would have given Australian V8 courses at first. I usually thought their configurations on paper seemed too simple. Only exceptions of mine would be Bathurst (you're silly if you think this is simple), Sandown, Eastern Creek, Adelaide, Oran Park, and Surfer's Paradise. I raced Symmons Plains (for the first time?) in ToCA Race Driver 3. Let me tell you something about that track. It is a pure road course, but the flow of the track seems more like a temporary street course than a permanent road course. The toughest corner is hands-down the super-tight hairpin which dips downhill a bit. I think that course is a street course, only without concrete barriers on both sides all the way around. Oran Park is a unique challenge for any car. I think this track benefits cars from Kei cars all the way up to (maybe) Le Mans Prototypes. It has to be an interesting course even for go-karting. In fact, that's what I think this is like- a go-kart track for big cars. It's a driver favorite from what I've heard. Sandown is a speed challenge, but only as long as you remember that this course has technical corners to test your high-speed thrill rush.

Australia needs to be represented. The absolute long shot is if every Australian track in the Australian V8 Supercar schedule makes it into GT5. PD could even push the envelope by adding in Pukekohe, Shanghai Circuit, and Bahrain, since the Aussie V8s raced at these courses before. Regardless, Australia needs to be inlcuded in GT5. PD's passing up on a great oppurtunity to give Australians and Australian fans what they want. Australians have as much of a voice as us Americans do, whereas many of my own people would like to see 60% American stuff and 40% of everything else.

More Australia in GT5, please? At least Bathurst. Never raced Bathurst in a game before? Then pick up any of the PS2 ToCA games, get to the Australian V8 Supercars, and see for yourself why it's Australia's biggest thrill ride.

i agree bathurst is a must, i want to smoke those v8's again with godzilla. Gay that they were banned, at least they left on a winning streak a.
They weren't 'banned'. CAMS changed to the V8 Formula because Group A was not popular and touring car racing in Australia was struggling. This change was planned before the Skyline GT-R ever raced in Australia. CAMS dropped the Group A formula as did other motorsport bodies around the world.
You are right about Oran Park John, it is popular with the drivers and it is like a big go-kart track. They used to race super-karts there.
I'm not sure if there are any circuits in Australia that are licenced to host prototypes. Albert Park should be able to as they host F1, Phillip Island maybe as they have spent a lot of money on saftey features recently, the Adelaide street circuit hosted the ALMS Race of 1000 years in 2000 but that was the longer GP layout and has not been used since. I am pretty sure that Bathurst can host the GT1 cars.
