Ya'll remember Mohamed Bin Sulayem right? Well I met him today, him and his gorgeous SLK.
Here's what happened:
I was on my way home from school when I see an SLK wit two black patches on the hood. I was like "stickers". So I decided to check it out. After a fast lunch, I went to the house where it was parked. I get close and see that those black patches were actually the engine sticking out of the hood. I was like WTF? I was even more shocked when I read SLR on the engine. So I started snapping pics. When a Nissan Armada pulls up and who else but Bin Sulayem steps out of the house to get something from the Armada. Then he gets in the SLK and calls me to talk to him. At first I didnt recognise him, but he told me later on. My first reaction was to point speechless at the hood. He told me got the engine and put it in himself and changed the transmission, and it's a RWD. He said it had 615hp, and could go well over 350 km/h. He told me he had already been up to 320. He said it's a one of a kind, and that AMG are coming to Dubai just to see it.
The reason why he did such a crazy think was because all the other cars he has (Enzo, F50, F40, GT1, etc etc etc...) were undrivable in these streets cuz of all the traffic, so he settle with a SLK55 with an auto transmission, a comfy, easy ride in other words. But he wasnt happy with the power output...So hey, might as well drop an SLR engine into it...
Oh, and the sound...Mind blowing...

Holy crap, that's mental! I would have thought that 350hp would have been enough for guys like this.

Where would he have found a spare SLR engine anyway?
 
Congrats to the other guy on possibly THE car-spot of the decade. That is outstanding! I've always thought that Bin Sulaymen was one of the world's biggest car-freaks and that has just been confirmed. Man, I would do anything for the contents of his garage(s). Why white though?!

Thats awesome, I would love to see pics of underbonnet (hood) to see how neat it was fitted.
 
I saw that on the other forum and I say what I said in the other forum about that topic:

Talk about overkill but I think I can let that pass for an SLR engine in an SLK55.
 
Well at least you won't have to worry about ever being slow again.
 
I highly doubt that's fake, it would take someone with really good photoshop skills to do that.
 
Hmmmm, where would you just happen to find an SLR engine without the SLR?

It'd be kinda hard to prove this fake with so many pics about.... Some people say they can spot photoshopping signs, but I, a somewhat experienced photoshopper, see nothing of the sort. :\

Now, it could just be a mock SLR engine in the real car. The fact that no one has any open hood photos of it is odd. Here are some photos of the SLR engine alone for some sort of comparison:

its fake cause theres NO way in hell an SLR engine will fit under there.the engines are the same size thats it.The reason AMG didnt put in the supercharged 55 in was because it didnt fit with the supercharger,intercooler etc.there is a guy in area who owns a SLR which i have been lucky to see and i can tell you that the SLR engine is fecking huge due to the supercharger etc.i could easy go to mercedes and for about 400 pounds by a SLR cam cover and say " oh **** look i got a SLR engine".nothing against Mohamed Bin Sulayem cause hes a cool guy but he pulled one over on everyone with this one
 
You realize if you throw enough money at something and cut the living hell out of it you can make anything fit. I've seen guys put 454 big blocks in little S-10's. It just takes a lot of fabercation.
 
Right on. The SLK55 already houses a huge motor, and a big 7 speed auto, moving things around and pushing them through the hood is certainly possilbe. Money is not an issue here, I don't think.
 
The no. plate with the Bin Sulayem is odd though.

Its curved but the text 'bin sulayem' isn't 💡


But the 1st few pics look fine to me.

Wonders can be done with money.
 
I'd say the guy has the money and is clearly nuts enough. He was featured on an old Jeremy Clarkson's Motorworld, he really does love cars and seems to have bottomless pockets.
