Slowest Cars Used in Endurance Races

I'm Looking to find out what are some of the slowest cars people have used in the Enurance races in GT4
Last night, I took an all stock Honda S2000 & won the El Capitan 200 beating out the Shelby Series 1 by about 40 seconds not completely sure because it won't let me see after 15 sec. I finished in 2:12:39.674 using sports hard the whole race--I would have liked to use N3's but they just don't last long enough.
Anyway my best lap time was 1:56.960 & I'm Looking to win other endurance races with really really slow cars & hope some of you fanatics would like to join me in this quest to not only win with 200 A-Spec points but to crush that with what might be 250-300 A-spec if the scale went that high.
sooo.. anyone who can win with a really slow car--comparabley to the comp.--let me know
 
i thought the a spec points limit was 200 (except for missions) i could be wrong. Anyways, goodluck with the rest of them 👍
 
it does only go to 200 the point is to not just find the best car you can win with that barely gets 200 points but to take a much slower car--as slow as possible
 
I said this in some other thread, try to win the Grand Valley 300 with a stock RE Amemiya RX-7. I tried and didn't succeed due to tire wear problems. It is fast enough but my tires went red too early.
 
that's the kind of thing I'm looking for, but I'm looking for All of the endurance races(except for the 24hr ones) & what cars people can win with that are slow--that RX-7 you named would be a good example though
 
Come and join CLUB 200 where all the stock 200 point specialists hang out!
Click the link in my signature, and you'll find plenty of 200pt races, all in stock rides.
We don't like NOS, ballast or N tyres to gain points, and barring a few tyre exceptions for enduros and the special conditions races, an oil change is the limit of our modifications!

Beating El Capitan 200 in a stock S2000, would certainly gain you entry! :drool:
Is that the only thing you changed? S2 to S1 tyres? No oil or anything else? :bowdown:
Which S2000 did you use? The '03 model?
 
It was a brand new--04 S200 35,000$ it's cheaper & 20Kg lighter I believe than the 03 type V it did have an oil change because I already owned the car from a previous stint comparing it to Motor Trend Mag. I also had black 5-stars w/chrome lip on it--car is white
the tires were S1's (Sports Hard) the whole race. & My next goal is Grand Valley--possibly a stock powered zero-downforce ZO6? not sure yet
 
smallhorse...does beating ElCapitan in a Mercedes Compresser get you in the Club 200?? B/c i did that not to long ago. It was really hard and i got 200 pts. Its fun but you need to be determined....lol

That depends. LeadSlead#2 specified that he won in a stock S2000.

Somehow I doubt that a stock Mercedes SLK230 Kompressor could win El Capitan 200 miles. Club 200 is all about stock rides with no modifications, as I mentioned in my post. An oil change is all that's allowed, along with certain tyre changes for some endurance races and the special condition events.

What did you do to the Merc to make it competetive? If it was more than an oil change, then, no, it can't be entered for Club 200. There is a 200pt race thread that will take any 200pt entries. Search for threads started by route_66 and you'll find that one.

I suggest you use the link in my signature for 200pt races in stock cars to visit Club 200 and see what we're about. Hispeed started the club a while ago and there's an enormous list of entries, but still plenty of gaps to be filled. Any race you can find that can be won in a stock (unmodified) car for 200 points will get you in. (preferably not the Dodge Ram :p its frowned upon because of its unfair advantage in many simple races! It's already on the list several times anyway!) There's plenty of folks that have high point entries for races too which are on the list, but they haven't entered Club 200 yet. Check it out. Hope to see you on the list soon. :)

ok well all i did was give it an oil change. You have your doubts but i have the trophey. All i can say is that i did it. There were no mods added.

That's pretty impressive then. What cars did you race against? What tyres did you use?
If you submit the race details and the car entry at the correct thread it should be added to the list. Read post #1 for the correct way to post the details. See you over there!

*edit* There's a reason for my doubts. There are 5 x 200pt entries for stock cars. LeadSlead#2's entry with a weight to power ratio of 4.8kg/HP is the highest so far. There's 4.6kg/HP entries for a Toyota Supra RZ and a BMW M3. A 3.7kg/HP entry for the Suzuki GSX-R/4 and an unknown entry for the Honda NSX-R Concept (since it doesn't list a weight in its stats page) but its presumed to be around the 4.5 - 5.0kg/HP area in stock form. All of the drivers have reported close races and are known to be pretty quick. WPR is usually a great indicator of what is competetive & what isn't, with the exception of the Dodge Ram which is a lore unto its own.
A used Mercedes SLK230 Kompressor '98 is available with a minimum of 19659.8 miles on. Even with an oil change, this gives 192HP powering 1325kg of car, a weight to power ratio of 6.9kg/HP. Is it starting to make sense yet?
I'm not picking on you, I understand that you're a 13 year old kid, not just from the way you replied, also from your profile too, but I wanted you to see why I had doubts. :)
Do you race in the WRS? I'd imagine you'd do pretty well over there if you're that quick. I used to be in Div 1 of the GT3 WRS, so I'm no slowcoach. I'd be happy to try out this race, in this car against your opponent lineup, if you can let me have it, and if it is indeed possible, you look great & I look stupid! But hey, I can live with that! An unusual entry like this from a previously unknown driver would come under some fairly heavy scrutiny. ;)

I'm not suggesting you aren't a quick driver, nor that it is impossible to win El Capitan 200 miles in a Mercedes SLK230 Kompressor '98, but I believe it would have to at least have some minor modifications such as weight reduction before it could be competetive with the sort of cars that the AI drives there.
I'm sorry if you feel threatened by my observations :guilty: but back it up with something more substancial than "i have the trophy" :indiff:

*edit 2* one other thing springs to mind. Did you win cleanly or by knocking the AI off the track in order to win? I guess that's possible, and is deemed legal in the 200 point race thread, but not for the stock race thread. I'm trying to help you get recognised for your achievement & want to make sure you put it in the right place. :)

Back on topic, well done again LeadSlead#2! I see you found your way over to posting this for the stock race list, the list in post #1 will probably get updated after the weekend, and your name will then appear in Club 200. 👍

#6: ME!!!!!!!!!!! ( i did not qualify....i find it silly...lol)

I used hard tyres(of the sport group) and an oil change and i changed my rims.....im not sure which ones they were at the special lot and i didnt look. Hopefully that didnt harm it....lol

That's OK, I think you misunderstood me, I wanted to be sure you weren't offended by my reasoning, I haven't been offended by anything you've said at all.

I'm just concerned that your reputation as a racer would be tarnished if you upheld the claims that your Mercedes is totally stock. The point of this thread is the slowest cars used for enduros, not stock cars, so it doesn't matter if your Merc is modified. However, you can't enter a modified car for the stock race thread.

One thing concerns me about your lineup above. I have entered and exited this races tons of times looking for good lineups to race. Also I have data from someone who has previewed the race to get HP values for all the possible AI cars for this race. The fact that you list 2 cars above that never appear in the AI lineup for this race is another hole in your story, coupled with the fact that you claimed elsewhere that your SLK230 has 230HP with only an oil change, makes me very suspicious. :odd: Do you share your game with a brother or sister who might have added things without you knowing it? It's just a thought..... 💡

The TVR V8S and Lotus Elise 111R never appear. :trouble:

Again, I don't mean any offense to you, I'm just looking at things logically and something isn't quite adding up at the moment. :indiff:
 
I've been experimenting with getting 300 hp touring cars on the Tokyo R249(or whatever, you know what I mean) with great results(though I've never had the time to finish it). In terms of the competition(and being able to beat them)I'd say that they(the 300hp JGTC machines, and other 300HP touring cars, such as the Altezza touring car, the ASL Garaiya(JGTC), and the RE Amemiya Rx-7(JGTC), just to name a few) are some of the slowest cars for the endurance races(I've lost over 3 seconds on the start/finish straightaway!)

Suprisingly (or not!) I notice TeamWilliams F1 hasn't been back to let us know anything about the mods on his car. (Here or in Club 200 where he claimed his stock SLK has 230HP! :dunce: )
 
Depends what you mean by slow. I won El Capitan Endurance in a modified '62 Lotus Elan, which had 151 BHP at the start of the race. That was for 200 a-spec points (the Elan gets 200 a-spec for this race even when tuned to 210 bhp) and the competition included the notorious Motorsport Elise.

It's definitely slow, as its maximum speed was, if I recall, under 130mph, but it sure wasn't slow around a lap. It was consistently registering well over 1.5 sustained G on the g-meter, on Sports Hard rubber, and was miles faster than all the other cars around any corner. With 151bhp it won the race in 2:10, and I managed a fastest lap of somewhere around 1:55. It only needed 2 pitstops and did not need to refuel at all.

My Elan had pretty much every mod installed except in the engine, where I ran it with stage 1 N/A tune, racing exhaust, chip, and polish and balanced. It had a racing suspension on standard settings, stage 3 weight reduction, racing clutch and flywheel, carbon driveshaft, fully adjustable transmission (to allow it to do more than 114mph). No NOS, no LSD (doesn't need one). It also had about 1200 miles on the clock since it has done a few enduros in its time.

Slow in a straight line then, but a serious giant killer. Same car, turbocharged, easily beat the A/C Cobra at Nurburgring in the 1000 Miles! enduro too, though that only got it 4 a-spec points. Full story will appear here soon.

On the default view, below the clocks (rev counter and speedo) there's always a horizontal bar with a dot in it which dances to the left or right when you move the wheel. It's calibrated up to 2, with 0 in the middle. I am sure somewhere it identifies itself as a g-force meter.

I've never heard of such a thing...but it would explain why it increases when you put suspension on a car

Perhaps it's not on the NTSC version. I see it on any old car in my PAL version and I didn't do anything special to call it up. It's a horizontal bar below the speedo and rev counter with a ball in it that shoots left or right when cornering, displaying the lateral G the car is pulling. It looks sort of like a spirit level. :)
 
I just assumed it was a guage for how hard you were turning the wheel...but a G-Meter would essentially do the same thing...I always wondered though why it went farther when I got Suspension on a car

:lol: Yeah I understand now. Notice also that when you turn left, the dot moves right, and vice-versa ;)
 
Laguna Seca 200 miles
Car: Honda NSX Type R '92 / MR / 283HP / 1230kg / 4.3kg/HP on R1 tyres.

Totally stock other than the tyre change. Beat the Viper SRT10 by just 2s!!! :eek:
