Mercedes-Benz announced today that it will offer the SLR McLaren super sports car in the form of a roadster. Powered by a supercharged (Kompressor) 5.5-liter, 617-hp AMG V8 engine, the SLR McLaren Roadster can achieve a top speed of 207 mph.

Coupled to an AMG Speedshift R five-speed automatic transmission, the engine delivers maximum torque of 575 pound-feet, and a zero to 62 mph time of 3.8 seconds.

Apart from two aluminium engine frames, its body is made entirely of carbon-fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) materials. Its newly developed roof material - which is available in three different colors - offers desirable aerodynamics while up. Favorable aeroacoustics with the top down mean conversation is still possible at well over 120 mph.

Looks like a big SLK to me
 
Ah yes, the only car in the entire world that is the answer to the question no one asked, completely and utterly pointless in its model range and how the car should have been in the first place all at once. Its like the perfect incarnation of a "Why Bother" vehicle, yet it literally is perfect. The problem is, so is the SL65, and for only 1/3rd the price.



Also, everyone has known it was coming for at least a year now, I think.
