Following the success of WWE Smackdown Vs. Raw, the 2006 edition looks set to pummel you into an announcers table any time soon...

The original was a big success, the graphics had reached new levels and there were more match types than ever before, but story mode was a bit lets say, repetitive. 2006 has changed all that with multiple story lines and specific storylines for certain wrestlers.

For example: first time through, I was Shelton Benjiman and I start on the "WWE Legends Tour" from there I went onto a chapter titled "A Very Special Show" Or something like that and then from there I went onto to "Time To Rumble" and then "Road To WrestleMania" where I finished.

Then I started again but this time as Carlito, first off was "Torrie Wilsons Contract" and thats as far as i have got so far.

So story mode has been made less repetitive by far, a very nice move considering story mode was one of the original's weak links. 👍

Next up is a completely new mode called "General Manage Mode", here you take control of one of the 2 WWE flagship shows, Raw or Smackdown and then in a football managerial style you have to fight for rating and fans of the show, manage contracts of wrestlers, set up rivalries and ultimatley set up matches and main events. Its very very difficult to start off with but once you get the ball rolling you will be fighting as if you are really Eric Bishoff or Teddy Long. 👍

There are 3 new matches aswell, "Buried Alive", "Bar Backstage Brawl" and "Fulfill Your Fantasy".

Buried Alive is exactley what it says, you got to incompacitate your oppiment so much you can carry him over to a coffin and shut the door on him/her, thus ultimatley, burying them alive.

Bar Backstage Brawl is a bar fight quite simply. You and another wrestler duke it out in a bar with objects all over the place waiting to deal out some destruction.

Fulfill Your Fantasy is where 2 WWE Divas fight it out with pillows and spanks. First one to fill up their fantasy meter wins.

There are also the classics such as TLC, Steel Cage and Hell In A Cell. In total I think there are around 50-70 different possible match ups. 👍

Another addition to the game is the ability to create you own entrance so you can seperate your self from usual wrestlers, its very easy and very good although perhaps a total customization wouldn't go amiss, never the less however, its a very nice touch. 👍

The graphics are also an improvement over last years edition and the blood effects have been totally revised with blood falling on the mat! 👍

Finally the fights themselves have been changed, no longer can you just keep on using your finest moves and finishers, since you have to keep check on your stanima levels, let it get too low and you will fall the the ground rendering yourself open for attack, you have to be alot more strategic in what moves you do. I personally love it, makes the matches much more exciting. 👍

Scores:
Graphics: 10 - The wrestlers look as realistic as your left hand.
Gameplay: 9 - If your new, your going to struggle learn the sequences for moves, if yoru a veteren, its as easy as pie.
Lifespan: 10 - With so many modes you will be playing this long into next year.
Multiplayer: 10 - Everymode is 2 player compatable, with soem matches alowing up to 6 players AND theres an online mode.

Total Score: 39 - One of the best games of the year and possibly on PS2, a must buy.

Good timing because my Smackdown vs Raw save data got corrupted so that may be a big enough push to buy it.
Soz, i didnt all your review because i was worried you may have gave too much away...
