Hello there

Can you help me I have my pop up blocker on my IE set to Medium (I have the latest version of IE) but when I go to GTPlanet I can see that it blocks the 'Smiley Central' window but as soon as I click on thread the 'Smiley Central' window opens up and its really annoying.

I've clicked on my gtplanet account and gone into Disable Pop-Ups but this does not solve the problem.

Am I missing something here?

"Disable Pop-Ups
You can prevent pop-up advertising from being displayed while you are logged in to your account. This setting is only effective while you are logged in to your account.
Disable pop-ups from GTPlanet."

"Because you're now logged in. Bet you weren't logged in before. "

Just went in and the pop up has come up again - and I ticked the keep me logged in tick box yesterday so it new it was me on the website.

So no the website is still not working correctly.

For you. Which leaves two possible sources of the issue - and since the website seems fine for everyone else, that leaves just one.

Clear your cache, clear your cookies, clear your browser history (and download a browser other than IE, if you haven't already). Set your browser to accept ALL cookies and set your GTPlanet bookmark to "https://www.gtplanet.net/forum" (ensure the "www" and "forum" are both there). Click on the bookmark, type in your username and password, check the "Remember Me" box and hit "Log in".

Close all the popups that have just turned up, clear your cache again (not cookies though) and reset your cookie settings to whatever they were before.

The same popup only affects me when I'm logged out. When I click in the box to enter my username and password it appears every time, but when logged in I never have any popup issues.

Just tried this and it seems ok now so thank you very much.

Hopefully when I return tomorrow all will be well.

Same, I only ever got it at college (as I had to sign in) and never at home as I used 'Remember me'

I always get a pop up that says 'Which is better, PS3 OR 360?' when I visit the forums when logged in.

Is that normal?

Yikes, my apologies on this one. The 'Disable Popups' option hasn't actually functioned since about one year ago, when I began working with a different advertising company and it became technically impossible for me to run different ad codes for different users. I had simply forgotten about it, but it should now be removed and hopefully will not cause any more confusion. To clarify, you, as a user, should only see a pop-up only once every 24 hours. Of course, if you are doing something funky with your internet browser's cookie and security settings, you'll prevent that cap from working correctly.

Thanks for the feedback Jordan, it's spot on now for me. 👍
