Just a quick note here guys. I will be taking a step back from the heavy lifting in SNAIL for a bit beginning next season.

I can’t commit to nights where I may be needed.

Divisions don’t run without volunteers. So if you are interested in helping out, because you enjoy SNAIL on a weekly basis, consider trying out some duties.
As I stated last month I will not be available for duties in April. I will be able to help out here and there, but am not going to commit to any roles or backup roles.

On another note, welcome to all those joining D4.

FYIs
The BoD has been in discussions over the last couple of weeks on some rule changes to SNAIL Sunday night racing. At this time we have three changes to announce. They will all be effective immediately meaning the April season.

The first is a change to the qualifying rules.

Any driver who leaves the racing surface during their out lap may return to the track and continue their qualifying run provided the come to a complete stop off the track and wait for the last car in the session to pass. Once the last car has passed, they may leave a sufficient gap (5 seconds) and rejoin the qualifying session. If there is not room to reenter and meet these provisions, the driver must remain off the track until the end of the session.

The second concerns the use of brake balance adjustment.

Adjusting brake balance is allowed. This will be allowed until such time that there is a game update that allows for brake balance settings to be verified during a replay.

The final change involves the use of the clutch pedal.

Due to the exploitation of a glitch in the way a clutch and H-gate shifter is allowed to be used in Gran Turismo, SNAIL does not allow the use of the clutch pedal in any way. If a driver is suspected of using the clutch pedal in any way, an IR may be filed and the stewards and, if necessary, BoD members will review the replay for indications that the clutch was used. If a driver is found to have used the clutch pedal, they will be assessed a level 5 penalty worth 17 points. This policy will be revisited any time an update is released that changes how the clutch and H-gate shifter or changes shifting in general.

These changes will be added to the sections of the SNAIL OLR Policies and Guidelines thread later today but they are in effect for tonight's racing.

Division Texters: Please remind everyone about these rule changes in your respective lobbies tonight.

I would be happy to do whatever is needed besides division manager lol.
If I end up needing to do scoring or data I would need access to the scoring/data sheets. I think I only have read privelidges right now.

Best of luck tonight in kicking off the D4 April season.

Unfortunately, I have had a busy weekend and not much practice - and zero with the brake bias in play. I will bow out tonight so that I am not messing up anyone else’s start to the season.

Looking forward to seeing some tight racing in the replays!

I would say just come race and have fun, you would be surprised how well you could do once the racing starts. At times i thought i might of done bad during the night and find out doing good or best that i can. More the Merrier. Understood though with you being more busy.

What time usually the lobby opens?

I will open the lobby in 10 minutes. No hot lapping. We usually start qualifying around 9:30 eastern once the all clear is given on the main thread to start. To wait 5 seconds from driver in front to start qualifying and one out lap, one qualifying lap.

I'm not sure you may have to go through the process again then because it doesn't look like you were ever placed in any division.

I read spmething about racing in an arcade mode race and race as clean as i can and submitt it. Well i did the race and i havent sent it, woyld you like to see it? Do you want me to tag you to it Y or N?

No I'm not on the board of directors so I cannot place you in a division. If it's been around a year since you asked to join I'd guess you may have to start the process over but your best bet would be to ask in the main thread.

Be sure to read these and follow them carefully.
Until you get assigned a division, you aren't eligible to race.

How To Join Us

Step 1: Post a reply (by click the 'Reply' button at the bottom of this post) stating, "I have read the first post and would like to join," and tell us how you heard about SNAIL. (Do not start a conversation with anyone, just post your request on this thread).
Step 2: Watch the thread for a reply to your post and follow the instructions provided.
Step 3: Purchase the three cars listed in the lineup for our next races.
Step 4: Wait to be assigned to a division and then join that division's lounge on Sunday night.
If you are not sure which division you are assigned to, please check the Offical Driver List
New Driver Placement Scheduling
and
Promotion and Relegation Scheduling

All drivers that submit a time trial before 23:59 ET on Saturday night will be placed in a division for racing on that Sunday. This may occur as late as Sunday afternoon but it will be done in time for Sunday night racing.

Every effort will be made to have promotion and relegation completed by the Friday night before the start of the new season. When there is a high number of new drivers in the registration process and promotion and relegation may be delayed and announced after the Saturday deadline for new driver time trials.

If you were wondering why I didn’t race last night, I parked my cars on this pull off and got distracted by the view.
