Event #2 Race Details
July 18th, 2025, 9pm est
Circuit de Sainte Croix B

Evening, SO5 Misty,
Cloudless and Sunny

14 laps/Race

Below are the details for Event #2 at Sainte Croix Layout B on Friday, July 18th, 2025.
Drivers are encouraged and reminded to confirm their attendance status as soon as possible to secure their spot on the grid for race night. Please see the updated Confimation and grid priority rules in the Spoiler tab below.
For the first event of this series, the top 12 drivers to confirm attending are guaranteed their grid spots for Event #1. Every event thereafter, the top 12 drivers in overall points standing will be afforded grid priority and first right of refusal for the next event. They simply need to confirm at any point up to 8pm est on the Thursday before our Friday race night to claim their grid priority. Drivers in the top 12 in standings that cannot make an event and confirm absent will forfiet their grid spot(s) to the additional confirmed drivers in the order in which they confirmed.

For the final four grid spots:
-If we have only 4 drivers confirmed/available by 8pm est on the Friday race night, those four drivers will simply procede to the race room at 9pm est to fill out the grid and the race night will proceed as normal.

-If we have more than 4 drivers confirmed/available by 8pm est on the Friday race night, those drivers will be required to run a formal Pre-Qualification session to establish the final 4 spots and remaining reserve priority for that night's event. (If confirmed drivers in this group choose to rescind their confirmation rather than attempt to qualify for the final 4 spots, and only 4 drivers remain, those 4 remaining drivers can procede to the race room at 9pm est as no run-off is then necessary).

If the Pre-Qualification is Necessary:
-@Noob01_lmdead / PSN ID: RJC76 will be our dedicated Pre-Qualifying room host with @Bologna_Duc / PSN ID: DucatiRobb or PSN ID: Sand_68 as our back-up hosts for this session. Be sure to have them on your PSN friends list to have access to their room. They will not be on track during this session (unless they are outside the top 12 in standings and are part of the run-off group)
-Pre-Qualification Lobby will be openened at 8:30pm est on our scheduled race night. Lobby settings will be set to the same as the main race lobby, except for the change to 10 minutes for the Pre-qualifying session. All confirmed Drivers (or last minute available drivers) will have 10 minutes to enter the room and forward their spec sheets to my PSN ID or to the series PSN group chat.
-Pre Qualifying will start promptly at 8:40pm est for a 10 minute qualifying session. (Again, if only 4 drivers are present at 8:40pm est, this session can be cancelled and those 4 drivers can procede to the main race room at 9pm est)
-The host will collect a screenshot of the qualifying results to be sent to the series group chat, and the top 4 (or more if needed to cover for very late last minute drops) will be directed to procede to the main race room when it opens at 9pm est.
-This Pre-Qualification room will then be closed, and all drivers that made the grid are to procede to the main race room when it opens at 9pm est.
-The main race lobby/room will then procede in it's current format of 15 min warmup/sending specs, 15 min Race 1 qualifying session, and then the 30 min race 1. Drivers that race the pre-qualification are expected to send their spec sheet again once the main race room is entered.

I will be hosting practice sessions in the afternoons periodically over the next few weeks between 4pm-5pm est, and am sure there will be other rooms open during the evening prime-time. Get those laps in and be ready.

Date: July 18th, 2025 at 9pm est
Track: Sainte Croix Layout B
Conditions: Evening, SO5, Misty, Cloudless and Sunny
Laps: 14 laps /race
Target Lap Times: 2:13's
(See Section 1, Tab 1.3 for Lobby Settings)

Track Map and Boundaries
1750971752826.png

Keep 2 wheels on or within the white line where curbing is not present, or on the curbs where they are present at all times, except where it is specifically noted otherwise. The white line and curbing is considered legal track surface. Failure to comply to track boundaries could result in penalties if infractions are witnessed and reported.

Exceptions and Specified areas:
none

Below is the link for the 2nd Post in the thread with the most updated driver regulations. Those highlighted in yellow either need to run an initial TT, or run a follow up TT to get the regulations confirmed.
Drivers Roster and Regulations
Please see below for the rules if not completed before race night:
Any drivers that do not submit a TT before the start of the season, will default at the base 679.00pp for event #1. Lap times will then be used to assess for an adjustment for the next event.
Also, if a driver that has not run the TT and posts a fast lap more than 1 second faster than the next fastest lap posted in the same race, that driver will be assessed a 15 point penalty for that race. (This would apply to the second race as well if a break out occurs in that race due to no TT data). Please get your TT done and submit to my PSN ID: NOVA-0479 before the start of the season or a driver's first race of participation to avoid any chances of break-out. (If a TT has been completed and turned in and assessed and a driver breaks out as noted above, the above rule does not apply. That would be on my assessment and success penalty would catch up to you)
Looking forward the opener.

At the time of this post, we currently have 20 drivers confirmed for event #2 with only 12 of them guaranteed a grid spot based on their overall series standing. All remaining drivers who are confirmed or confirm before Friday at 8pm est on race night will be asked to run in the pre-qualifying room at 8:30pm est on race night. The top 4 times (or more if needed to cover any last minute drops after the pre-qualifying session) will move on to the main race event room.
Please be sure to confirm your entry if wanting to compete.

Thank you Nova I appreciate what your saying -

It has been pretty hard to enjoy that win - But as I said I enjoyed the experience and missed out on the battles - that car at Daytona with those massive straights and even in the corners on RM was insainly fast.

I been called a cheater and made to feel like dirt over that race. I damn near dropped out of the series over it. But then realised I would be the one misssing out on this experience and opportunity to grow and learn race craft.

Racing with all of you is a fantastic experience -

Snail is hard for me - I'm new to GT7 and racing - takes me days and days and days to get to a competitive level on 1 combo against the mid and top guys in D2. I just don't have the time for that right now. In a Month i can go from last place times to ??? We shall see - I'm dedicated to be competitive.

I promise to hone my craft every race and practice to the best of my ability.

I never went off track at daytona - barely missed a few apexs - and feel i nailed 34 laps without an error (except you Mr Ducati sori about that)

My plan is to repeat at St Crioux - We shall see how it ends -

My goal is to be at a level to compete with the group at a PP that challenges me fairly and put everyone at a competitive level -

My goal is to get to the lowest PP possible - where that is ..... were about to find out -

Thanks to everyone for the experience and the competition - I truly appreciate the opportunity to grow.

Ant

does this say the yellow bellys have to run a qualifier for the 2nd race?
No, the drivers highlighted in yellow have not submitted a TT. They would default to the base 679.00pp. If the are real slow, too bad...thats where they start from. If they are more than 1 sec avg lap pace faster than the next fastest driver, they would get a penalty.

The pre qualifying is to secure one of the final 4 grid spots. Once the spot is earned, that driver is in the main lobby on the grid for that event. If they place and end up top 12 in points, they would then secure one of the top 12 guaranteed spots which would not require any pre-qualifying.

Anyone who calls you a cheater is a sore loser and isn't a good representation of the ethos of SNAIL. Winning in this game comes easy for some of you because you've been blessed with an innate ability to drive in this game, but the rest of us have to work at it. Ant worked his a$$ off preparing for the race, and to call him a cheater cheapens his hard work and dishonors you.

Do I enjoy losing? Absolutely not, but when I lose, I don't accuse the winner of cheating.

To those accusing Ant of cheating, I would like to know how you think he cheated?

Wow Sure appreciate the support Mr Tex - I say we just move on and race hard at St Crioux - I sure did not mean to start a war - Just wanted people to know that not everyone appreciated the large gap between first and the pack /

As Nova said - first race was a bit of an outlier and part of the sorting out process- We will all group together by race 3

I merely wanted Cup Members to know I did Suffer some negative reactions to the win - and thats not my fault - i did work very hard for that win - and as Nova stated - I played by the rules - worked hard - and had the same concessions as 4 others drivers. Unfortunately for those with same concessions they ran into some issues during the race that I did not.

Just wanted people to make sure were all on the same page that I played fair and by the rules and look forward to graduating to a lower PP.

Losing PP is an honor to me as it proves to me I succeeded - It would be amazing if I could work hard enough to be at equal concessions to Ducati - Bubbles - Phano - sand -'etc etc....

I'm not there yet - I look forward to the races and challenge myself to win every month regardless of my PP level.

Thank you for the kind words - ready to Move on to round 2 and lose more PP if I can 😀

I couldn't care a less about winning the cup ..... I'm the newest PS GT7 player of the group with 7-8 months experience - Just having this opportunity to learn from all of you is the Big Win for me

And to ad - I think I represent the ethos of snail to a T - regardless of how others may may view my win at Daytona

I’m actually surprised that anyone in this group would display that type of behaviour, but anyone that’s ever been a part of @llNovall series in the past understands how these series’ work and to be that judgmental after race one is ridiculous! It will all even out, and with this series being extended, it will be that much tighter at the end.
I think we’ll see plenty of position swapping between now and the end of the series, so @The_Antman_ enjoy your victory, because if it was me, I would be.

Great practice last night!! Looks like the off road incidents are less and less and the laps are just rolling off .....

Gonna be a tight race from what I am seeing - will maybe get that Photo Finish Niagara is looking for -

I think Dub is gonna be holding practices this week - looking forward to more participation as we get closer to race night!!!

Its gonna be a GOOD RACE!!!!!

Just back from travel after race night. That was pretty incredible racing from my perspective. 7 different position changes with @Worst_Driver and @bublyman in Race 1. Stunned that I finished as high as I did in Race 2 but some attrition helped with that. Excellent summary and work from @DRD_Niagara again - thank you!! Always a pleasure to read those post race reports.

On to Sainte Croix. A couple of videos from the last Porsche race here. The section before the bridge can be very tricky. The cars are at their most unsettled with the direction and speed changes. As shown here it can take a bit to figure out the right approach. Then add cars with different PP and tires!! 🌶️🔥

Also, for reference, you can easily find the 2024 Race 1/2 replays by searching for German-Porsche car, layout B track with the tag “snailgt3cup”, again courtesy of Mr. Niagara. 👊🏻 Different Porsche model but same Nova race model.

Event #1/ Race #2 Recap
250620 - Event 1 - Spotters Guide.png

Preamble:

Sorry the group had to wait on this one. It's been a busy week with little time to spare but I was off today so a few free hours allowed me to finally get this out to you.

As per our usual procedures, the grid for Race #2 is set in reverse order. This will put @cesarr64 and @Noob01_lmdead on the front row. Behind them will be @TexHill and @Phlano099. The 3rd row sees @Kgffy line up besides @JDMKING13.

Apologies to @Phlano099 - When I pulled pictures and did the race broadcast, your livery defaulted to the car livery for some reason. I picked up on this early and switched to @llNovall's replay but got the same result. Maybe a bad day for my connection? I don't know.

Event #1 / Race #2:

LAP #1:
It's lights out for Race #2. @cesarr64 has a big slip that costs him a few positions right away. @TexHill takes his spot and he and @Phlano099 leads us into Turn 1, which the grid navigates much cleaner than in the first race.
SHARE_20250630_0143130.jpeg

LAP #1 - Lead Change:
@TexHill led for half a lap but unfortunately got his first time through the chicane a little wrong, slips and spins. He'd fall to the rear of the grid and @Noob01_lmdead is our new leader.
SHARE_20250630_0143480.jpeg

LAP #2:
@Mac1032763 came into T1 real hot and just couldn't get his car stopped in time. He ends up giving @JDMKING13 a bump to push him wide. To his credit, he's aware of the error and slows down to wait but the speeding traffic behind him bunches up and causes a slight chain reaction cause and both @DRD_Niagara and @Mac1032763 to spin. I again give him credit for letting me straighten out first before we finally got under way in 14th and 15th position.
SHARE_20250630_0144300.jpeg

LAP #3 - Lead Change:
I wasn't sure what happened until I recapped this race but my reply shows good hard racing between @Noob01_lmdead and @Kgffy going into the chicane on Lap 3. @Noob01_lmdead had the more difficult line of the two and he'd end up spinning into the grass and dropping to 11th. @Kgffy is our new leader. @CdnSweetTee is right behind him in 2nd. And giving chase to them is @Phlano099, @bublyman and @Bologna_Duc in the top 5.
SHARE_20250630_0144510.jpeg

LAP #4 - Lead Change:
On the back straight of Lap #4, @CdnSweetTee manages to catch and pass @Kgffy prior to the chicane and is our new leader. @Phlano099 @Bologna_Duc and @bublyman are running 3-4-5. And further behind them we can see close racing between @Worst_Driver and @cesarr64 in 6th and 7th.
SHARE_20250630_0145130.jpeg

LAP #6:
You can tell these two have been racing together for quite some time. @socalnatv and @llNovall, running 10th and 11th, go in and out of the chicane, side-by-side and absolutely no contact and plenty of room given. A thing of beauty.
SHARE_20250630_0145350.jpeg

LAP #8:
A little bit of a messy Turn 1 on Lap 8 (and thankfully I didn't take shrapnel this time). It looks like @cesarr64 might have gone a tad deep into Turn 1 and his and @Worst_Driver's racing lines criss-crossed. @Worst_Driver would wait for him and they'd be on their way in 12th and 13th place.
SHARE_20250630_0145530.jpeg

LAP #9 - Lead Change:
@CdnSweetTee, who'd been our leader since Lap 4 got a little wiggle into Turn 1 and that was enough for @The_Antman_ to go ahead. From the 16th slot, he manages to take the lead a little past the halfway mark of the race.
SHARE_20250630_0146330.jpeg

LAP #9:
The mid-grid is the place to be. @socalnatv is trying to fight off @bublyman to retain his 7th spot. Just behind them is @llNovall, @DRD_Niagara and @Noob01_lmdead trying to catch up to them.
SHARE_20250630_0146140.jpeg

LAP #10:
The chicane is angry today my friends. It has already claimed @TexHill, @Noob01_lmdead and now gets @CdnSweetTee on Lap 10. I was sorry to see this one as it proved costly for White Knuckle Motorsports. She was in 2nd, chasing @The_Antman_ but the slip would drop her to 14th.
SHARE_20250630_0146500.jpeg

LAP #11:
The @The_Antman_ is far and away gone. But positions 2, (currently occupied by @Phlano099 who is having a heck of a race) through position 11 are all within sight of each other.
SHARE_20250630_0147120.jpeg

LAP #14:
Still plenty of positions to be gained and lost. Having somebody occupy your entire rearview mirror can make one sweat but to me the high stress moments are when a small mistake or slip can result in the loss of multiple positions.
SHARE_20250630_0148030.jpeg

LAP #15:
The next two pictures represent same time frame, just panning the camera to the left.

@The_Antman_ and @Phlano099 occupy the first two positions but the trio of @Bologna_Duc, @llNovall and @DublDee are battling for that last spot on the podium. (Fun fact - I testing this during the recap, the scoreboard in the background actually does update to track the proper lap count at the very top)
SHARE_20250630_0148200.jpeg

And panning a little bit to the left, and just a second or two behind is @Mac1032763, @socalnatv, @bublyman, a side-by-side @DRD_Niagara & @Kgffy, and @Noob01_lmdead.
SHARE_20250630_0148400.jpeg

LAP #17:
In the end, @The_Antman_ manages to go from last to first and claim another victory , this time by a whopping 17.8 seconds meaning I'm not able to frame another driver within sight for his victory picture.
SHARE_20250630_0149040.jpeg

LAP #17:
And with apologies to @The_Antman_, his victory picture was upstaged by the photo finish between @llNovall and @Phlano099 for 2nd place. If this race ended 15 feet ago, @Phlano099 would have managed to hold onto the 2nd place finish but @llNovall positioned himself perfectly to use the slipstream claim that position for himself. The two would join @The_Antman_ on the podium.

Event #1 / Race #2 Broadcast:

Driver of the Race Award:
As I review the replay a few times to pull pictures and to record the broadcast, things stand out to me so I give a shout-out to the following drivers for their performance in Event #1 / Race #2:
  • @Phlano099 - He got a favorable starting position in the 2nd row for Race 2. Turned the page quickly from a Race 1 that likely didn't go as planned and ran a quick, clean mistake free race. Like I said to @DublDee after Race 1, @Phlano099, running with a baseline -3 PP of 676 can't be faulted for not being able to pull in @The_Antman_ but he kept some fast cars and some fast drivers behind him. Nicely done Sir.
Honorable mention to @llNovall. It's occurred a few times now when I do these recaps that I notice @llNovall in 11th, then a few pics later in 7th, then a few later he’s on the podium and I'm always thinking to myself, how the hell is this guy up here? A very solid event for you.

Final Thoughts:
  • Event 1 is in the books and it's a clean sweep across the board for @The_Antman_ with 2 wins and all of the extra points available for pole and FL's.
  • I was initially bummed about finishing 10th in Race 2 but upon closer look, positions 2 (@llNovall) through 10 (@DRD_Niagara) are separated by less than 5 seconds. Pretty tight grid.
  • Shameless plug for the Snail Sunday Night Spec League. Get yourselves on the active drivers list and you've got some good racing available to you every Sunday night.
  • Also, @TexHill has been gauging interest in 1-hour Endurance races on Saturday afternoon. Let's call it a series in BETA testing but the more events and series available to us as a group, the more it should help Snail grow. I haven't been able to attend myself but it's apparently pretty chill with open mics and I'm sure Saturday at Fisherman's Ranch was a blast. @TexHill, maybe post your race posters in this chat too in the future.
That's how I interpreted Event #1 / Race #2. Apologies if you saw it differently.

Will overall ranking after race 2 include a dropped (lowest score) race? In other words, will those of us who missed race 1 have a chance to rank? Or will we be continually chasing everyone else with an extra race worth of points?

Also, while the lowest 4 finishers get a PP bump, do those of us who might not qualify on race night get any concession? Asking for a friend….

Yes, after Event #2, the lowest score will be dropped, and after event #3, the two lowest scores will be dropped. From there, the two lowest scores will be assessed as we progress further into the season.

Thsoe that do not make the grid, do not get any change in pp.

Are you maybe open to future consideration for those who don’t Q? Now I’m speaking for myself but if my current handicap keeps me from putting up a competitive qualifying time for this race, shouldn’t an adjustment be made for the next? Otherwise, I’m potentially stuck in a spiral of uncompetitive qualifying times with no PP adjustment possible.

I will amend the qualifying rules, that any driver that is present for the Pre-Qualification session, and does not make the main grid will earn an equivalent to last place concession award of +2pp toward their next event driver regulation. For those at the +20pp regulation, no more concession can or will be afforded.

Thank you. I do appreciate the consideration for all of us. I fear I’d be capable of breaking something of low monetary value if/when I don’t qualify (dad’s having a moment kids) so the PP concession would certainly ease the blow.

@DRD_Niagara and @Yugofan thanks for the practice lobbies last night. That was some really good practice and would like to give a shout out to @Phlano099 for being so helpful with fellow racers and providing some tuning tips.
The group is getting tighter and it’s going to be an exciting event, come race night!

Was good chatting with the Canadian Mafia last night, glad to help where I can, tire wear was interesting in the two lobbies, and will have an impact on race night.

Hopefully I can stay within touch of all the fast drivers, will be challenging to say the least.

Yes thanks for the reminder @DublDee and huge thanks to @Phlano099 😊- unfortunately I was up til 4 am trying to figure out my tuning issue. And still unable to resolve.

Back tire is still melting and I am just not getting the issue -

i did multiple 10 lap sessions and every time the left rear RM melts / even with smoothest inputs i can muster up.

Go to RH tires….

Just under two weeks to go until Event #2. For fun, I figured we would run a livery contest up until 5pm, Thursday 7/17.

All drivers interested in participating, please take a photo or photos of your car and post here in the thread by this Friday, 7/11, 8pm est. From there, I will collect everyone's entry, and the voting period will open until Thursday, 7/17 at 5pm est. The car with the most votes will be issued a decal to display in their driver's quarter window before our next event. Start posting now.

Ok I tried RH tires - smooth inputs and easy on throttle -

Same.result but worse

First out lap - 2:14
Sec.lap.-.2:14.7 tire temp 200
Third lap 2:14.6 tire.temp 208

Tire cooled before i could photo it

Tire was.like melted butter and crashed lap 4

Its see definitely in my Tune.....

Should be interesting for me. Tuning and my lack of knowledge are apparent and obvious.

194 is the HI end of normal.-.-anything.over 200 is risky - at 205 turns to slicker than snot

That is interesting, with GT7 you cannot change tire pressure, which would help with the tires overheating, not sure how you tune for tires overheating, maybe negative camber and toe angle, or Diff setting?
