I dont need to explain the plot do i!? Just look at the title!!. All you want to know is, was it worth all that hype. Well, yes & no. Its a very entertaining film. But there is alot of problems.

But lets concentrate on the good for now. Sam Jackson, is good, as always, if a little over-acted in parts. The support cast, the guy from Wolf Creak & the hot girl from Species III & xXx 2 are both good. As is near enough everyone. However most of the non-main characters are very cliche'd. There's an arsehole, a mother & daughter, 2 young brothers, a horny couple, a paris hilton type dumb girl with her dog, a famous (********) rapper & his bodyguards. But hey its all fun. Plus there are a fair few funny lines.
And there was one moment that even made me kind of jump, which is usually impossible.

Now the bad things, well theres the daft plot, but we dont really care about that. But the actual problems with ther film are as follows. It plays like an "Unrated" version of a PG13 movie, rather than a proper R rated film. The bits that were added in during the "reshoots" seem very obvious some times. Alot of the swearing is added in when you cant see a characters mouth. It could've been a PG13 fine i think. The action is often very close up and sometimes hard to tell whats going on, like alot of PG13 actioners recently (AVP, Bourne, MR & Mrs smith). But the worst part is the CGi, its horrid. People complained about Anaconda/s having bad CG, well this is often worse. Even when there simply slithering along the ground they look fake, there's the odd real one on there, but it still looks wrong. But its when they jump on the people its almost laughably bad. But i guess thats sort of the point in this sort of "B movie".

Its extremelly entertaining, and anyone who has a sense of fun (or liked Eight Legged Freaks) should enjoy this. Just what ever you do, dont take a "critic" with you.

7/10

Saw it last night with about 8 friends. IT'S FRIGGIN' AWESOME!
It is a fun, action-packed film that does not take itself seriously at any point. They packed the plane with every classic cliche, from the stewardess on her last flight before retiremnt, to the a couple of kids on their first flight alone. The action is over-the-top, the CGI is aweful (not that any of us cared) and the snakes are unrealisticly aggresive and deadly. But that's the point. It's supposed to be over-the-top and completely ridiculous. As the title and previews suggested, the plot is taken care of of in the first 15 and last 10 minutes of the movie, allowing for 80 minutes of the uninteruppted madness of snakes on a plane in the middle.

You go into the movie expecting exactly what the title suggests, and it delivers exactly what was promised: Mother :censored:ing snakes, on a mother :censored:ing plane.

I'd give it a 9/10.

I agree with 3WD. It's supposed to be a campy movie, and it's a great one, too. I wasn't quite expecting for the attacks to be so gruesome, and I wasn't expecting to see any "nipple action," either, but as a whole, the movie was exactly what I expected -- snakes. On a plane. :)

I will probably see this one after work Wednesday. Depending on what time it starts I might drink some beer first.

I love the campy movies that are campy on purpose. I enjoyed Eight-Legged Freaks and Slither had me laughing at the purposeful silliness of it all.

I'm glad these campy movies are making a comeback. Too many campy movies were beginning to take themselves seriously, especially the Sci-Fi originals. If it's going to be stupid at least make it obvious.

I wouldn't call this "camp", unless that means something different in america? Its a pure Bmovie. Great stupid fun. Which is what i said before.

Didn't get to see Slither, but will definately see it on DVD.

Im into B movies and I love cheesy horror flicks so this is one for me, cant wait to see it.

B Movie, is exactly what "Campy" means. A movie with such bad effects, and plot holes that it knows it can't be taken seriously.

In all honesty, do you think someone could smuggle an anaconda onto a plane? Pure hilarity, and bad FX.

That's what makes this movie so special. It knows it's outlandish and unrealistic, yet you all love to watch it.

"Big Trouble in Little China", anyone... Anyone?

I'll rent it for a laugh one day. I can't imagine anyone I know buying it, so I can't borrow it. Maybe you can take a drink every time Jackson says something that rhymes with "other trucker".

I still get the nagging feeling Snakes on a Plane came about thanks to a $1 bet between two movie execs.

As far as I know, it was an honest movie idea that turned into a high-concept B-movie after its humorous working title turned it into an internet meme.

It really has "trilogy" written all over it. I can't wait for "Snakes on a Plane III: We Weren't Able to Remove All of the Snakes from the Plane in the Second Movie".

"High-concept" is one of the most oxymoronic terms ever coined.

How about "Snakes in a Drain" or "Snakes on a Baggage Claim"?

Now that's good watchin'.

Snakes on a crane, or Snakes in the rain, or Snakes down the lane, snakes that are in-sane.

Nope, I'm guessing the third would be "Snakes in a car".

Originally I was thinking "Snakes on a Boat" but then I realized they're following John Candy's theme. "Planes, Trains and Automobiles"

👍 That's a great film, I saw it for about the 15th time not too long ago.

That was from The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, when Sam Jackson was talking about the movie.

I'm sooo getting this movie on DVD. :D

Awesome film. It has to be seen with friends and in a packed movie theater to get the full experience, though. The groans, laughs, and shrieks from the audience really push the movie over the top.

Like the scene with the guy in the bathroom. Classic film scene, which was just heightened by the reactions from everyone in the audience.

It's a little late to see it in a packed theater, but you can still see it with a couple friends. And you should.

The only thing that I was disappointed by was the lack of one-liners from Jackson. I was fully expecting the movie to start with Jackson saying, "This is some ****ed up, repugnant ****." But, I'll survive.

The blatant Red Bull and PSP advertising was key.
