SO I just got this new set of 18x7.5 44+ Enkei Evo 5 wheels with some brand new federal SS 595's. Had them balanced at ******** Tire(where I purchased the tires) and got on the freeway had vibration obviously unbalanced, so took them back they rebalanced them got on the freeway much better still a little but w/e. Now on to the good part, upon cleaning them this weekend I discovered this...

Took them back the next day, brought the guy out to inspect them. I mentioned I knew what it was and that its from Tech carelessness and I just want my brand new rims fixed. We went back in I talked to the manger and they have to send them out to some other company to have them refinished. Im back on my old wheels for now... nice while it lasted.

That sucks major expletives dude.

The problem with my new mags is much more simple...all the guards need a good roll/cut. Those Enkeis look pretty sweet though...or at least the bits the tyre place didn't scratch to buggery. What Falkens do you have on them?

That does suck... This is why I've never been interested in putting really nice wheels on a car. There's sooo much that can go wrong in terms of them getting messed up.

They are Federal SS 595's I accidentally said Falkins oops haha super sticky great tire for the time I got to test them.

Glad it's getting taken care of. Next time don't take it to that tire shop. It shouldn't be that difficult of a job so whoever did that was a real moron.

My thoughts exactly, whoever did it MUST have seen the damage. If they make it right I may bring them my winter sets but that will all depend on what comes from this. They will not be touching my nice set again. Ill update when I get them back but they were sent out on Monday and dude said it would be like a week.

What the hell man? Did the guy beading your tires just slam the pry bar into the side of the rim for 🤬 and giggles?

Guy used a wire brush in a very careless manner instead of taking a second to clean the area with a rag and water for the weights

I'm pleasantly surprised that they offered to get them fixed. Too many stories like this it seems those responsible deny doing the damage.

A wire brush? Please tell me that guy got fired. There is no reason for that amount of laziness if he was properly trained. Though that brings up another point; what kind of training are they doing at that shop?

I was fairly nice with how I phrased this thread, the first guy looked at the rims then at me then back to the rims like he was trying to figure out what he could say, that's when I just stated I knew what caused the damage. When we went inside the manager refused to acknowledge me and would only look and speak with the tech I was dealing with. I know a lot of the car people in this town had to name drop a bit to get them to come around. I kept my cool though which is the big key, I did my homework before I went in cause I know they screw people all the time this way.

Ahhh, that sounds more like it. ;)

It is not hard mounting and dismounting a tire without damaging the rim. You should demand they pay for the damage on top of it. Dumbasses.

Oh yes they are paying for everything.

Update***
They got refinished and they look brand new again so all ended well.

PICS!
