I am trying to pass eiger race in grand tour event few weeks to get platinum trophy. The target time is 1:17.000 mine best is 1:17.125 with sixaxis and AT.

I always do 1:17.5XX or 1:17.8XX

I am so bored to getting close 0.5-0.8 seconds to success. This race is weird.

PD has to modify the target time to 1:17:600 or 1:18.000

If I pass this race I will earn platinum trophy. What must I do? I watched lots of youtube videos but still can't do it :nervous:

patience and persistence. I found going slower and tighter on the hairpins is quicker than trying to go faster and wider. Try to eliminate any rear wheelspin as this just eats time.

I was in the same boat as you (sixaxis) and thought i'd never do it. Left it alone for a few months and did other events only to return to it and get it by a chunk of time after about 10 attempts. I can upload the video if you want.

I like this sentence.

Use search button, there already is a topic on this.

I don't think that your video will help me because I watched lots of eiger videos. But I won't loose anything if I watch your video so you may share your video for me. Maybe I will find a clue point for myself.

This was one of the hardest challenges in GT5 for me, its all about the last 2 turns, i spent hours on end at it and on the penultimate lap I actually had a scruffy first sector so I pushed as hard as I could for the rest of the lap and sling shotted it through the last 2 turns and cleared by about 2 tenths.

Practice is key ;)

Brake early and never drift, I recently finally golded with 1.16.839 using a DS3. tcs 1 and abs 1.

As Jamie posted above. I was stuck until I realised to gun it as early as I could control at the last corner. I found out that I lost around a second between there and the finish.
Find out what section/corner you are slowest on and try another line or another camera angle. For some reason I drive best with the bonnet cam but I hate it.
Also I used MT and short shifted to avoid too much wheel spin.

I drifted most of the corners, we all have our special ways.

I personally think it's won or lost in the long right-hander before the tunnel. You have to get a good move off that.

Might I suggest MT?

I too use AT most of the time. I HAD to use MT to beat this to avoid the wheelspin. I short shifted off of that right hander, and did not shift at the same time AT did on the small hairpins. The quick left-right after the tunnel may require a gear up to avoid wheelspin then a quick jab into a lower gear to get set off for the final hairpin. The perfect shift and car control is needed off the last. It can be done, but I really think MT might be helpful.

It was my first time actually using Manual doing this.

I had done 1:17.125 with sixaxis TCS:7 ABS:2 AT
so that means AT is possible to beat this race. Just need to drive very very carefully. I watched my own video (0.125) but can't drive like it again...Always do 0.5 or 0.8

don't know what must I do. I really feel bad these days :( everybody get platinum but I can't because of stupid 1 second.

You golded Vettel's Challenge and cannot beat this rather easy, in comparison, test?

There is more than 0.125s to be shaved. More like 1.5-2 seconds. The time is not that tight.

If you set your mind on beating 1.17 you probably never make it, unless a lucky lap. Focus on 1.15ish which is doable, forget the numbers on the right of your screen, and you'll beat the time easily.

change your Brake Bias in this event, I forget to which value, but the default settings won't earn you gold easily. After the Brake Bias adjust, you will gold it every attempt afterward. I learnt of the Bias adjust some 1,000 attempts later. Golded it it the next 5 minutes. It will shave at least three quarters of a second , to even 2 whole seconds, from your best time, as the modifed Bias settles the car favorably in a different manner along the lines.

Yes, some people point this issue, I mean adjusting brake bias. Where can I do this? In the options of the main menu? And how can I see my setup in the race when I push the button? What must the settings will be ( 4/9 or ?) Sorry for the questions but don't know how to do. Final question, is that really make it easy when compare default?

There's no way you could beat gold with drifting all way. No way at all.

Ok I found how to adjust RA menu. So what setup is more effective for front and rear brake bias?

Default is 5/5

edit: found it, I used Bias 3 Front, 8 Rear.

You want stronger rear to allow it to kick out just a hair. don't get too excited after this discovery as I did, and ended up grinning to careless mistakes afterward! but you will feel a difference.

No way....I tried everything. Always 0.5-0.7 sometimes 0.4

This is so crazy. What was the aim of PD or Kazu about this event? This is so weird...

This is what happens when you glitch Vettel. 👍
I'll gold it for you - for 10£ mate.

It's nice to actually have a few challenges in gt5. People are just too used to racing easy AI in my opinion. Remember prologue?

The time PD set is fine, a challenge but attainable. My first go at it the best I could get was 1'17.8xx. Came back to it later and after some practice I got 1'16.1xx. Use manual, lower gears can help the car rotate through the corners. The right hander after the bridge is a key corner to get gold. Good luck.

I voted yes, but have just done it by altering brake balance to 3 f 6 r, the way to do it is to go SLOWER and hug the inside of the twistys (First 3 or 4 tight corners)!!! 1.16.4! AT LAST!

DS3, Auto, all aids off!
