Hi there guys,

Haven't posted in a long time and wasn't sure where to post this but i felt like sharing it with you guys. So I was with my dad today till we reached an empty parking lot and decided to have some fun with his bimmer :D

Incase the embedding isn't working here's the link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oRyZea1i364

And yeah i used to drift a lot with a wheel in GT5 and it's the first time i've tried something like this in real life haha

Sideways snow action is a lot of fun.. I used to have a RWD Corolla that saw a lot of it.. When you advance from empty parking lots to ice tracks, mountain and forest back roads it's even better.. :)

And a lot more dangerous too i'm assuming. This was the first time we tried something like this and my dad was so scared from that pole in the middle :scared:

Actually forest roads are pretty safe as you usually have snow banks to slow you down if you lose it.. I did straighten out the front valance on my old Corolla quite a few times, but no big deals. Worse when you start doing the same in the summer time like we did lol.

Just make sure there are no cars around.. Mountain/lakeside roads with open corners are preferable.. Don't go sideways around blind corners - I was inches away from clipping the rear quarter panel into a Volvo once lol. No harm done, you live and learn.. :) One of the best things about northern winters, I won't lie. Just be careful, don't be an idiot. All my winter shenenigans saved me once the tail on a Benz slid out on a highway covered in black ice :)

Drifting in snow filled parking lots is fun, back when we had a lot of snow this year my dad and I had to nip to the grocery to get supplies, as there was no-one in the car park (apart from a few employee cars at the far end of the car park) we did a few figure 8 drifts between lamposts. It was great fun :)

Good fun! And good effort by your dad for trying it in such a big car. I haven't been brave enough to go for it yet in my car.

Oh, and I fixed the link for you. Just put the code after "watch=" in between the YOUTUBE tags,

Thank for that!

And yeah i've been drifting on gt5/gt5p for quite a while now but just didn't know how it really felt or how fun it really is, but at the same time as one of the previous posters said one does have to be very careful especially with such a powerful car.

Oh and btw this has got my dad practicing with my g25 too now  :D

First time I ever drove in snow I Found an empty parking lot and kicked the tail sideways. Early Pilots (2003-2004) have no stability control so provided that you're on a slick enough surface you can get it going sideways as much as you please.. I had some good fun with it and kept it in control the entire time. That empty parking lot was my high school parking lot, when I came back in for school that next Monday and the snow melted off I could see my handiwork as they had salted extra where the Pilot had slid.. Man I felt like a boss that week

Also throwing the tail out intentionally (all it takes is a little extra gas and quick reflexes..) on a snow covered corner you know well is a great way to shut up your friends yappy ex who you have the misfortune of being left with for a time, and in that half an hour or so won't shut the 🤬 🤬 up about how much she still loves him  :banghead: :grumpy: ah that was fricking great.. She was too afraid to talk afterwards.

That BMW just looks heavy, lol.

I remember my first time drifting in the snow was in my old Subaru Legacy wagon in a school parking lot. You could go all out and feel in control with that, and the speed would just keep building up to the point you felt you should let off the gas.

Dad's posted a few messages on Facebook in the past year or so saying something about showing the Americans how Kiwis drive in snow, and another time said that there will be a bit of sideways action on the way to work today. :D

I've pretty much never driven in snow though, too worried about crashing/getting stuck.

Good first try there :)

We drive on a plowed icetrack at a nearby lake in the winter and its fun as hell :)

The best thing with this icetrack is that of you make it wrong, the worst thing that can happen is that you get stuck in a snowbank.

Nice videos. In all honestly, this really is one of the safest and most fun ways to learn how to drive in the snow. 👍
