OK last night, about 8:30pm I here some noise from towards the front of the house, so I jump off the computer and have a good look around the kitchen and lounge area, I don't see anything unusual so I start walking back to the comp room, about Half way down the hall I heard some noise again, I have another look around and see the kitchen window is open, I had a bad feeling so I closed it. Little did I notice the fly screen had been removed as I was walking down the hall. When I closed the window the robbers only entry point had been blocked so they mustt have left. But in the morning I noticed there was no screen there, so it turns out when I closed the window the robber was at the window right under my nose. They were only seconds from getting inside. :scared:

Anyway I didn't hear anything after that and in the morning I found out he had also broken into the garage and stolen my two bikes, which had a combined age of 16 and were worth a total or $80 -- we were also just about to chuck them out.

Moral of the story, he was an idiot:lol:

What pisses me off about this is that the police didn't come at all. Police come for any old domestic dispute but they don't come when you get robbed, what a country. Albeit they didn't get anything of value.

We're loooking for someone with giant feet, in the garden next to the garage there a two giant footprints.

I hope you take the hint that you need to better secure your house. Buy window locks for all your windows.

All our windows do have locks, we've now bought dowl to make sure they can't be moved. But really, if they really WANT to get in they will, there's no stopping that.

Yes but here in Australia it's almost impossible to get a gun licence. But the black market has alot of options:lol:
DRIFT4EVA
I know of a way to keep crims out.
What's that?

Law Abiding? Where you get that idea from?

Yes, If I hadn't closed that window when I did it would have been much worse.

Ian Thorpe maybe?
LMAO!
Klostrophobic
God damned aboriginals. Always stealing and leaving footprints in the ground.
Uhh, was that supposed to be funny?

See, that is why I would never leave my safe, well policed country for the crime ridden shores of Australia.

But, glad that the burglar didnt gain entry. Bikes can be replaced, lives not 👍

And yes, the first comment was sarcastic

You were in the kitchen, if he was in their, you know exactly where the knives are located, he doesnt ;) as a matter fo fact, you know where all sorts of interesting implements are located that he has no idea about. frying pan, rolling pin, sauce pans etc

sorry to hear about your loss. those poor bikes could be anywhere. I suggest that wehn you get the ransom letter you just pay it and get your precious bikes back in one piece before they start sending you terrible photos of slashed tires and bent frames...

LMAO

Yeah, if I had have seen anyone first thing I would have done i grab two knives then set the alarm off and wait it out, I'm sure they wouldn't stick around too long after that.

Good way to get a life sentance too, if they're (the suspect, not the gun) not armed. Unless you mean to scare them off.
Actually, you only need to have "a resonable amount of fear of death or injury..." to shoot somebody that has broken into your home, no matter if they were armed or not. Because, if they weren't armed before they broke in, they could easily arm themselves with a kitchen knife, or whatever.

If someone broke into your home, and you pointed a gun at them, and they didn't turn and run, then you will have no worries of an arrest if you shot them.

If you were arrested, the chances are excellent that all the charges will be dropped once the details were sorted out.

If you are still prosecuted for the crime, there is a superb chance a jury wont convict you.

I thought you were alowed to do anything to someone who forces entry into your house?

That's why I like America, if they're tresspassing and you give them one warning, after that they're fair game. Sorry about your bikes, I've had mine stolen before, and mine was $400. Just get a new one that's better for $80 and keep it in your room.

No, that was misinformation supplied by Hollywood.

But, many police, attornies, judges and citizens feel that way, so, that statement is almost completely true.

Oh, for your information, if an attacker, with a "deadly weapon," stops attacking you once you've displayed a firearm, and gives up, and you shoot him, you'll both be going to jail. You'll also go to jail if you shoot somebody who is running or turning away from you, but like I said before, there is an excellent chance that either of those charges will be dropped, or a jury wont convict you on those charges.
