Been playing GT4 non stop since its release. Time to get into GT5,

people:

Inform me some of the best aspects about this game that will make it difficult for me to sleep well tonight in anticipation of playing this game for my first time..
:dopey::dopey::dopey:

I played a spec up to level 18 before trying b spec. I wish I had done b spec first. The cars and money won help a lot with a spec.

The first thing that I immediately noticed was that you get way more credits for races which makes it easier to level up, until you reach the 20's

how much is way more?
ie. Need for speed shift? that was pretty bad..you'd get like 50k for one or two races even right at the start of the game

Spend time doing the special events when you first start too. You gain way more credits and XP from them than you do from the beginner A-spec races. It's also a nice change of pace.

Gold B and A licence, do the basic special events and then you are home free to destroy the A spec events as you so choose.

>GT5 has 4 modes in the main menu: GT Life (where you start your career), Arcade (where you can drive pre-selected car in seconds), GT TV (where you can watch some videos concerning motorsports & vehicles), & Course Maker (a simple generation of courses based on theme & criteria selected after).

>GT5 now has day/night transition, but only on supported tracks. Some can also support weather change as well, either supported with day/night transition or not.

>GT Life Special Events: In GT Life, you can participate or take lessons in events that are outside normal driving. The events include Kart Racing, Jeff Gordon NASCAR School, Top Gear Test Track, AMG Driving Academy, Gran Turismo Rally, Grand Tour, & Sebastian Loeb Rally Challenge. Of course you have to progress your A-Spec or B-Spec level to unlock each one. Every one has a level of difficulty, ranging from beginner to expert. You also have to progress your A-Spec or B-Spec level to unlock the higher difficulties. Completing a race will award the player credits based on the trophy he/she earns, & consecutive wins with a same trophy can win a new track in Practice & Arcade or a random-picked car prior to the selected Special Event.

>GT5 has a leveling system where you have to progress throughout your career to get behind the wheel of fast cars & difficult challenges & events. You can progress either on A-Spec or B-Spec; they still unlock high-level cars the same way, but each are independent on their modes.

>GT5 brings back B-Spec mode.

>They are milestones in the game that when you reach, you can earn some interesting prizes, but are not revealed anywhere.

>GT Life has a collection of trading cards called Museum Cards. These cards each have a history of car-making, accomplishments, & failures in a certain manufacturing company's life. You'll be awarded with 10 Museum Cards each time you log in. Of course, you can trade Museum Cards with your friends to obtain ones you want to have.

>GT5 now has a gifting system, which you can gift a friend a car, & they can gift you as well. However, there is a daily limit of 1 gifted car per 24 hours.

>GT5 has acquired aspects of socializing with friends & sharing, like a message board that friends can talk in. Of course you have to have a connected network, but you can still play the game without it.

>You can be able to play your favorite tunes in GT5.

>There is a cool feature called Photo Travel that you can take your current car to beautiful places around the world that you can then take a photo. More places are unlocked as you progress in Special Events.

>(1.05 patch) GT5 has mechanical damage, meaning that when you collide into a wall, your car suffers damage in the car's mechanics, like a tire jam. They are 2 levels: Low & High. Low means it only lasts for a while until it disappears, & High means it is permanent until you stop at the pitstop.

>GT5 has multiplayer online capabilities. Now you can access into a lobby & that you can play with other people or with your friends, or you can start your own. You can tell if a lobby has smooth or not & whether the race is good by looking at two things: Connection & Race Quality. Connection is measured like reception on a phone -- more bars equals a smoother experience. Race Quality is measured in stars, counting from 0 to 5 stars. Higher means a good & fair race(s). When you start a lobby, you can be able to choose many restrictions, like whether or not F1s should be allowed or HP limits.

>GT5 has a Used Car Dealership where it serves the standard cars. The Dealership is updated every time you race, so make you check for your favorite cars. (1.05 patch) There is also an Online Dealership in which it picks out unusual or most-anticipated cars, once again only being in the standard cars. I'm not sure it updates or not.

>Premium cars are sold at the New Car Dealership, which is always available.

>The game supports several steering wheels.

>GT5 has some aspects like in a forum, like avatars attached to your GT Life Home Menu & Welcome messages.

That's probably it.

Mind.
Blown.

Thanks. I wrote out every cool feature in the game. I try not to expose spoilers.

EDIT: Added some more.

Sorry man i have to be a bit more critical;

Good stuff in GT5
-the premium cars and tracks
-physics
-quick online play
-drifting with 900°

Bad stuff in GT5
-unusable menu structure
-long loading times for every screen change
-standard music selection
-Graphics when it comes to standard cars and tracks
-The RPG element (leveling) limiting the cars you can buy.
-Tuning cars takes way too long (slow popups)
-No customising the looks of the car
-Fully customizable gearbox is not customisable at all
-B-Spec mode (costs a lot of money)
-Paint chips needed to paint a car (just let me paint the damn car!)
-Used car dealer (why cant i just buy all the cars at all time! I have to hope to be able to buy an ugly rendered car?)
-Course maker; you cant make you own course at all.

Basically i feel the game is constantly telling me; "Youre not allowed to do this", "Okay you can do this, but i will limit you in it.."

Its like im a kid in candy store but the "candy po-po" is watching over my schoulder to see if i dont buy anything that could harm my poor theeth.. ITS A FRIGGIN CANDY STORE!!!!

I'm happy for you for getting GT5 and all, Rzeractor, but all of the information that will be, or has already been, posted has been covered numerous times.
