Currently my city (Billings, MT) or rather the Lockwood subdivison where I live is on fire. Yeah fire. Threads like this are useless without pics, But I am smart and took some.
So at roughly 1pm I am awakend by the sound of my phone ringing
Friend: "Dude, Emeral Hills is on fire"
Me: "Cool"
When you half-asleep a fire les then 2 miles from you house really doesnt bother you. So i head outside, in my boxers none the less, to see one huge cloud of white smoke above Emerald Hills. Now upon seeing this I was like "Wow fire". But then my head caught up to me and I was like "I need a camera". So I head over to one of my friends house and just take one of her cameras and head back out to lockwood to snap some pics.
Roughly 2pm, im still in billings here:
Im back in lockwood here, and just off the road by my house

Here it just caught some some structures
A shot from the highest hill in lockwood, the cops started to yell at me for taking pictures just after i shot this one.
this shot is the closest I came to the fire during the day (shot inside my car)
This is shot from on top of the "Rims", the highest point you can goto in billings.
Now this pic i shot in front of my guitarist house just after we finished practicing and the power went out. I am roughly 1 mile from the fire here, and the cops have yet to start evacuating us. (and i couldnt control the shutter speed on my camera so the pics are a bit blurry from this point on)
Im on the road in front of my house again, but at night.
this is the only good shot i got off the rims at night of the fire.
So yeah, the fire is still burning, but moving southward away from all the multimillon-dollar houses in emerald hills.
