This is bizarre. My wireless BT connection will work just perfectly on the sites I use the most - be it Facebook, twitter, or GTP. However any other site I get this (with firefox)

I get errors about "cannot connect to network" with Chrome, and I have turned off the network adapter on my laptop, run diagnostics, checked network settings and it still won't work? :odd:

EDIT: Restarted laptop. Seems my most accessed sites work. :odd:

Try going to online.wsj.com. When that fails, type in http://205.203.132.1/ (or just click this link - it goes to online.wsj.com)

That works. An example of the page I am trying to connect to is the neogaf forum. www.neogaf.com/forum

Others included links from facebook.

From the command prompt, ping various websites.

Let us know if you get a reply, time out, or if it cannot find the host.

neogaf is http://64.91.255.7 (though I can't get it to load either).

So did online.wsj.com work? Because if so your problem is not what I suspected.

That did work. Windows Defender and AVG currently detecting nothing. So perhaps not an issue with my connection?

It'll be a DNS issue. If you currently use your ISP's automatically provided DNS, switch to 208.67.220.220 primary and 208.67.222.222 secondary.

Ok, so if the IP addresses are working but the names are not, then you have a DNS problem. That's usually an issue with your ISP - possibly on their end, possibly a misconfiguration on your end. Keep track of this one:

66.228.33.251 (gtplanet)

and this one

173.194.115.114 (google)

Edit: Tree'd by @Famine

Edit2: Keep track of those because your cache on this website is eventually going to run out.
