So I just got this today, I was a little sceptical as I'm not really a rally fan but I've heard its ridiculously fun.
I must admit its the most fun I've had in a while & some events really do take alot of energy :P
But it finally came to the time when I crashed & this is where it may be minor but it really annoys me.
They show you how much G forces your crash actually was, interesting idea, shame the quantity they show is complete rubbish, at 87mph my crash peaked at 78 G..
Lets put that into perspective, an F1 car peaks at 5/6 under breaking & cornering, same with a jet plane, F1 crashes rarely go over 6/7 my little rally car going 87mph sideways into a tree can get 10x more than those?
So if I crash in a rally car according to this I will instantly die for the G force?
Seriously whats the point of putting it in if they are just going to be stupid?

Fair enough, the figures may be absolute mince.
But:
Kubica had a 75G crash in his F1 car...

I still can't wrap my mind around the fact that he lived, even more so without much injury.

The fact that he did is a testament to how amazing F1 safety is these days.

Any race car for that matter, I've seen some rally races that I couldn't believe the guys got out ok.

Kubica's horror crash compared to a 80mph rally car bumping into a tree? Barely come close do they? (I still think its a miracle he came out alive)
It just seems silly to me.
Unless the figures are actually correct?
I always thought like 50-100 G was serious injury/death where as this makes it seem like if you run over a pebble you're getting 20 G..

I have no idea tbh, but you said:

Which just isn't correct. :p

Although Kubica appears to have gone over grass and probably a gravel trap which would slow him down a bit, so the figures in Dirt 3 might not be so wild.

I just always went from the little on-board thing.
It just still doesn't seem right taking Kubica's as an example, he hit a concrete wall at 150~mph pretty much head on & spiked at 75G.. Dirt 3 is saying a rally cars rear bumping into a tree at half that gets the same? I don't really know much about G forces but that does not seem very logical to me.
