We've been working on this for a while now. But, after what can really only be described as a difficult pregnancy, our twins were delivered into the world at 04:03 and 04:05 today. Alastair William weighed 2lb 9oz (1.165 Kg) and Jonathan Robert 4lb 15oz (2.24 Kg).

Both babies are doing absolutely fine, regulating their own temperature and breathing natural air by themselves. Alastair is being fed a sugar solution via drip, but Jonathan has already fired into the milk.

So, anyway, we present Alastair:

And we present Jonathan:

Double congrats Giles, they look perfect.

Plenty of sleepless nights ahead i predict!

Wow, twins like a two for one deal. Congrats, and nice shootin' GG!

So when do we get our cigars?!

Congrats Giles! Glad to hear they are doing well. They seem very small, is that usual for twins or were they slightly premature?

First Dual Core CPU,

Now Twins.. You're progressing Giles

Cheers, and major Congrats - Good work 👍

Congratulations to you and your good lady wife, Giles! I love the pound coin for scale comparison in the top picture  👍 Some friends of mine just had a baby too, after a difficult pregnancy and some testing times, but things have been going smoothly since the wee one was born, so I hope it's the same story for you guys 👍

They were 4 weeks early, but Alastair has not been growing normally, and is thus very small for his age. Jonathan is normal size.

Aye, Dual Pregnancy, Dual Core. Two is the new one.

Thanks, although our foreign friends will appreciate the knowledge that the coin is 14/16ths of an inch (22mm) in diameter.

So what does that bring the total to? They look great. Congrats.

3 total.

Thanks all of you for your kind words.

Congratulations, Giles and Susan! Hopefully Susan's doing better since I last heard.

Will Alastair be kept until he reaches a certain weight? Generally, it's considered healthy at around 5 pounds.

Congratulations!

I can't believe the weights of those guys. Alastair isn't even 3 pounds!? I didn't think babies could live if they were that small, but he appears to be doing okay. I was told I was really light--I was in the low 6 ound range--and maybe that's why I'm light still.

Hope you have a good time raising them. Good luck, daddy.

How I didn't spot this thread earlier is beyond me. A huge bellowing congratulations to the both of you all the way from Manchester 👍.

Congratulations and Jubilations.

The Espace will prove useful...

Double trouble. You're in for it. Congratulations Giles. Any plans for more of the little buggers in the future?

Congrats to Giles and Mrs.Giles 👍, just remember which one is which!

congrats mate. teach 'em well!

try and get as much sleep as possible!

Congrats, Giles!

You've got to be on your guard, now! As Frank Jr. from friends put it...

...You know, two I can handle. Two's great. You just hold one in each hand, but what do I do when the third one runs at me with his bike helmet on. I've got no more hands to protect my area!

:D

Alastair? That's so liberal. How bout a nice conservative Mary?

Cool, so are they going to be identical? Or is that not known yet?

[EDIT] And yeah, 2 and 4 pound? That's damn light even for twins (I was an almighty 9lb 6oz I think ;)). Good luck.
