*alright sorry guys you didn't do anythig wrong.
I know.
Apology accepted, but you didn't edit quick enough to escape my annoying post I was writing earlier - I'm such a bastard

What are you guys dumb or something? You think I listen to it that loud? It can hit that if I crank it. And my stereo system is worth thousands of dollars, so yes it has quality in it.*
(*I have quality inside me too! Actually scrap that, my heart is screwed.

)
What did I do to make you say I'm dumb? I know the internet is primarily a 'typing' medium, but I am quite capable of verbal communication in several languages, thank you.
It may be good quality
sound for a car stereo, but the majority of these systems are built for strength and durability, super BASS and volume, not neccessarily super detailed and fine sound quality (although it obviously has to sound reasonable). I never questioned the system's
build quality, that kind of thing. However, car sound systems ARE designed for a different kind of buyer than that of an (admittedly anal) audiophile. A good home sound system costing the same
thousands of dollars would be considerably more "hi-fi", but thats not the point, which
is kind of my point...

Hell, you can't even (well not practically) use valves in car stereos to give a more natural and smooth tonality - they would break straight away!
Plus when you add wind, traffic, engine, road and other noises etc...I don't know why someone would spend a lot on a car sound system beyond the macho need to show off with volume... a car isn't the best environment to enjoy high fidelity sound in the first place. Hence why MP3s are so popular in cars. This is why sound quality (as in its natural quality - including all the little details and dynamic response of various instruments that makes things sound really great - not just 'loud') isn't that important for car stereo enthusiasts (although they won't admit it). Which brings me to my very basic point that I generally dislike loud, overly bassy car stereos of all sorts, they just don't deserve to exist if the most redeeming quality they possess is volume and unnaturally excessive bass for the sole purpose of ego inflation. If a modest but decent quality sound system can produce nicely listenable sound at comfortable volumes, why spend loads on huge subwoofers/amps etc? Testosterone, lack of self worth, you name it.
Of course with certain genres like techno, drum and bass, rap and hip-hop etc judging excellent/bad sound quality and detail is trickier. Put on some live (not compressed, EQ-ued-like-a-bastard radio pop) jazz or classical music and its much more telling... Do the drum brushes, double bass and piano sound like they are literally in the same room as you? Most expensive stereos sound "good", but do you literally feel that the instruments exist in the real world, that its very nearly a 'live' performance? My guess (for any car environment/system - excluding perhaps a Maybach

) it wouldn't have this effect on the listener.
Sorry for whinging and ranting and going way off topic from the far more pleasant (if somewhat dull) issue of whether we like snow or not. For the record I like snow a lot, but I have yet to write my name in the snow (in
yellow) so I feel I am missing out on a crucial part of being a man on this Earth so far. Hopefully I will get the chance to redeem this issue if I visit America in the future.
