Hi,
I've started experimenting with tyre choices recently. I've run a couple of 5 lappers with soft tyres on 'Amateur' leage races. For the first two laps the grip is awesome, but after that the tyres go to red so fast that the last 2 laps are a real struggle.
It seems to me that any advantage gained in the first couple of laps is more than negated during the last two. That leads me to think that soft tyres are useless for all but 2 lap races.
I've only run a couple of races in the 'pro' league but they are all longer races - again does this mean that spending money on race tyres (apart from hard ones) is a waste of money?
Am I wrong / stupid / (or a poor driver that wears down tyres too fast?)
Thanks
