SoG Race Club Startin Up

If you've ever been to the Shift 2 forum you've problably seen my post like this, well of course, it couldn't be helped that I would set up a GT5 team as well, we aren't the MOST competitive, that's how I want it, just a group of people looking to have fun, and play GT5, if you're interested read below for a couple of thing I need to tell you.

First off, as of 8/1/12, I don't have a total group setup on the SoG website, so bare with me for a couple of days, thank you!

--And most important!--
There are.. uhh a couple of rules, I must say. We're here to have fun, but there will be SOME competition from time to time, of course.

Rules:
1. Must be at least 13 Year old!
2. Must be somewhat mature acting!
3. Must have a good attutude, so NO screaming or complaining!
4. Please don't mouth off to other groups, UNLESS they deserve it..
5. Have fun!

Hang on, how do you plan on racing as a team?



Do you mean as an association/sanctioning body?


The meaning of team, in both English and German, is a group of individuals who have a common goal, and common opponents, who group together to beat the opponents. I'm not sure, therefore, that there are "opponent" teams on GT5.



However, if you're looking to create a sanctioning body, there are plenty:


GTPMSA: (GT Planet Motor Sports Association?)

PURE

W.M.A. (World Motorsports Association)

C.R.A.P. (Casual Racing ...)

S.N.A.I.L. (... North American...)



I can't remember all of the acronyms for all of the sanctioning bodies, but, I'd like to remind you that there's a difference between "Team," "club," and "Sanctioning Body."


Team: read above

Club: a group of likewise individuals looking to have fun together, through friendly competition.

Sanctioning Body: a group of individuals who host competitions, that may or may not be serious in nature.



Examples:


I race for Team Phoenix, Speedsource Mazda, and Championship Honda, as teams.


I am a member of the Twin Lakes Motor Club, which holds Autocross/Autoslalom "training" events, and I drive an '09 Hyundai Accent.


I am a founding member of the World Motorsports Association, a sanctioning body (similar to the F.I.A.) which holds competitive races on GTPlanet, which, though we don't award prizes for, are serious in nature (we expect the highest level of discipline possible.)



So, please explain what purpose this "Race Club" "Team" serves.

I didn't mean it as "grammar spanking." I was asking for a clarification, as you can (and, depending on what sort of interest you're looking for, possibly should) change "team" to "club."


"Team" sounds very "unwelcoming," as most people associate "try-outs" with "teams," but not with "clubs."


Clubs is far more welcoming, IMO, and so, I prefer "Club" or "Sanctioning body" as it portrays the purpose in a much more friendly and much more accurate manner.


I really meant no offense by it. I guess I came across as a bit arrogant (?) though it simply was not my intention.
