You buy a car at Auction that has a Higher than average power rating, you go to upgrade it, get the "Setup File Locked' screen, you then continue to upgrade and POOF! all the extra goodies you paid for disappear.

I have a Solution to SETUP FILE LOCKED issue.

When people put modded cars up at the auction site they can have an option to:

A) Sell the car LOCKED so people can use it as is but if they try to upgrade they will loose the setup And the upgraded parts.

B) Sell the car UNLOCKED so people can use it as is and if they try to upgrade they will loose the setup BUT WILL KEEP THE UPGRADED PARTS!

When a person would look at the cars at auction there could be a "Locked" or "Unlocked" next to title of the car:

Ford GT -locked- or Ford GT -unlocked-

This would be a GREAT feature to add!

They dont get to chose if the car is locked or unlocked, the game does that for them. As soon as you modify a car and try to sell it, or tune a car and try to sell it, it automatically locks the tune itself. This was to stop people from stealing the tunes of the one selling, and selling it off as their own later.

Are you sure they disappeared, and that you have to rebuy? Go to the tuning screen and check if the parts have an emblem on the top right corner of them. I forget if its a wrench or something else, but the emblem should indicate what is purchased.

Also, this didn't need a new thread.

This would appear to be a request/wish.

And yes the parts are gone when you remove the tune - makes the AH virtually worthless now as paying over the value of the car is only any good if you ahppen to like the paint or tune. Yet another change T10 have made that hasn't really improved the game more than it has damaged it.

This appears to be almost identical to the thread he created right before this, with some extra tacked on for good measure. It didn’t need a new thread, to be honest.

If that’s the case than that’s a shame.
